Product description

Solution for injection "Tionex" is used for the following indications: adjuvant therapy of painful muscle contractures in cases of acute pathologies of the spine in adults and adolescents over the age of 16 years.

Compound

The active ingredient is thiocolchicoside (one ampoule (2 ml) contains thiocolchicoside 4.0 mg).

Excipients: sodium chloride, water for injection.

Contraindications

Thiocolchicoside should not be used:

patients with hypersensitivity to the active substance or to any of the excipients of the preparation;
during the entire period of pregnancy;
while breastfeeding;
women of reproductive age who are not using proper contraception;
patients who suffer from flaccid paralysis, muscle hypotension;
patients who suffer from hemostasis disorders and are being treated with anticoagulants.

Mode of application

Tionex is administered intramuscularly. The recommended maximum daily dose is 4 mg every 12 hours (8 mg per day). Treatment should not exceed 5 consecutive days. Exceeding the recommended dose or duration of use should be avoided.

The preparation is contraindicated in children under the age of 16.

Although drowsiness is considered a very rare manifestation, the possibility of drowsiness should be considered.

Overdose

Overdose cases are unknown or are given only in specialized literature.

In case of an overdose, careful medical supervision and the adoption of symptomatic measures are recommended.

Side effects

After administration, rare cases of malaise have been observed, sometimes accompanied or not accompanied by a decrease in blood pressure and / or fainting. In addition, infrequent cases of agitation or short-term confusion have been reported after parenteral administration. Drowsiness is very rare. There is information about rare cases of rashes and redness of the skin.
