Product description

Vratizolin is a preparation whose use is indicated in the treatment of cold sores on the lips and face caused by the herpes simplex virus. It has an antiviral effect, topical application to the skin is recommended. It is characterized by a creamy structure with a specific smell.

Indications

Treatment of cold sores on the lips and face caused by the herpes simplex virus.

Composition

1g of cream contains:

• denotivir 30 mg.

The preparation contains:

• ethyl and stearyl alcohol,
• propylene glycol,
• methyl and propyl parahydroxybenzoate.

Action

Antiviral preparation for topical use. It inhibits the replication of viruses, including the herpes simplex virus. The preparation shortens the duration of the disease, and when used in the prodromal period, it can prevent the development of the disease (it does not prevent herpes recurrence). It penetrates into the diseased layers of the skin and its concentration in the blood is undetectable.

Dosage

Topically on the skin.

Treatment should be started at the first appearance of symptoms (e.g. itching and burning).

The affected skin is covered with a small amount of cream several times a day.

Treatment usually takes about 5 days.

Recurrences of the disease may occur in people infected with the virus - then it is necessary to use the cream immediately to prevent the formation of vesicles.

Contraindications

Allergy (hypersensitivity) to any of the ingredients of the preparation.

Side effects

Not known: local reactions such as:

• skin irritation at the site of application of the medicinal product,
• contact dermatitis,
• symptoms of hypersensitivity.

Warnings and Precautions

Do not use the preparation on the mucous membranes, e.g. of the mouth or eyes, and to treat genital herpes.

Avoid spreading the virus - rubbing the lesions unnecessarily or touching them with a towel.

Contact with the eyes should be avoided.

Due to the content of cetyl alcohol and stearyl alcohol, propylene glycol and methyl and propyl parahydroxybenzoate, the preparation may cause local skin reaction (e.g. contact dermatitis), skin irritation and allergic reactions (possible delayed reactions).

It is not recommended to use the preparation during pregnancy and breastfeeding (no research).
