Indications
When there is a deficiency of zinc in the body, if it cannot be supplemented with normal nutrition.
Composition
1 tablet contains: active substance: zinc 25 mg (as zinc dihydrate 157.36 mg) and auxiliary ingredients: colloidal anhydrous silica, microcrystalline cellulose, povidone K-30, sodium croscarmellose, talc, magnesium stearate.
Action
Zinc is a micronutrient. It regulates the production of growth hormone and sex hormones (necessary for the production of sperm and eggs). It makes the body less susceptible to infections and allergies. It affects the proper secretion of insulin by the pancreas.
Dosage
Adults and adolescents 12-17 years of age: the recommended dose of zinc 1 / 2-1 tablet (12.5 to 25 mg) daily. Use in children 6-11 years of age: the recommended dose is 1/2 tablet (12.5 mg). If you miss a dose, take the dose as soon as possible, unless it is almost time for your next dose. In this case, leave out the forgotten dose and take the next one at the right time. Zinc deteriorates the absorption of tetracyclines, ofloxacin and other quinologists (antibiotics, norfloxacin, ciprofloxacin)
Contraindications
If the patient is allergic to zinc orthonate or any of the other ingredients of this medicine, it should not be used in children under 6 years of age. Liquid medications are preferable for this group of patients.
Storage
Keep the preparation out of the sight and reach of children.
Side effects
Stop using the medicine immediately and seek medical attention if you have symptoms of: difficulty breathing; swelling of the throat; swelling of the mouth; tongue or face; rash or hives; At the beginning of treatment, zinc salts may cause abdominal pain, nausea, indigestion and diarrhea. These symptoms are more common if zinc is taken on an empty stomach. Symptoms of overdose: gastrointestinal disturbances, a metallic taste on the tongue, abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, drowsiness, headache, anemia (reduced number of red platelets in the blood) and dizziness.
Interactions
Zinc can affect the absorption of copper. If you take Zinkorot for a long time, your doctor will test your blood copper levels. Chelating agents (used to remove heavy metals from the body) such as D-penicillamine, dimercaptopropanesulfuric acid (DMPS), dimercaptosuccinic acid (DMSA) or ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid (EDTA) may impair zinc absorption or increase its excretion from the body. Concomitant use of iron, copper and calcium salts may reduce zinc absorption. Please tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking or have recently taken any other medicines, including those obtained without a prescription.
