Indications.
- Arterial hypertension.
- Treatment of arterial hypertension. For most patients, the preparation can be used to control blood pressure as monotherapy. In the case when it is not possible to achieve adequate control of blood pressure when used as monotherapy, this preparation can be used in combination with such antihypertensive agents - thiazide diuretics, β-adrenergic blockers, calcium channel blockers or ACE inhibitors.
- Benign prostatic hyperplasia.
- Treatment of urinary tract obstruction, as well as symptoms associated with benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH). Assign to patients with BPH as in the presence of arterial hypertension, and at a normal level of arterial pressure.
Contraindications.
Hypersensitivity to quinazoline derivatives (eg, prazosin, terazosin, doxazosin) or to any of the excipients of the preparation
history of orthostatic hypotension
BPH and concomitant upper urinary tract obstruction, chronic urinary tract infections and the presence of bladder stones;
breastfeeding (only when indicated for the treatment of arterial hypertension)
arterial hypotension in patients with BPH.
Doxazosin as monotherapy is contraindicated in patients with bladder overflow or anuria with or without progressive renal failure.
Compound
active ingredient: doxazosin;
1 tablet contains doxazosin mesilate 2.425 or 4.85 mg, which is equivalent to 2 or 4 mg of doxazosin, respectively;
Excipients: lactose, microcrystalline cellulose, microcrystalline granulated cellulose, sodium starch (type A), colloidal silicon dioxide, sodium lauryl sulfate, magnesium stearate.
Method of application and dose.
The preparation can be taken both in the morning and in the evening.
Arterial hypertension.
Treatment, as a rule, should be started with Zokson® 2, which contains a smaller amount of the active substance. The preparation is taken 1 time per day: the initial dose is 1 mg
(1/2 tablet of Zoxon® 2) for 1-2 weeks to minimize the risk of developing orthostatic hypotension and / or syncope (see section "Peculiarities of use"). After 1-2 weeks, the dose can be increased to 2 mg (1 tablet Zokson® 2) per day, if necessary. With insufficient effectiveness, the daily dose can be gradually increased taking into account the individual patient's response to treatment, which is evaluated depending on the achievement of the desired level of blood pressure.
In most cases, use a dose of 2-4 mg per day (1 tablet Zokson® 2 or
1 tablet Zokson® 4), which is taken 1 time per day. If necessary, the dose can be increased to 8 mg up to the maximum recommended dose of 16 mg.
Children.
The safety and efficacy of doxazosin in children have been investigated.
