Indocollyre eye drops - based on indomethacin, which have an anti-inflammatory and analgesic effect. It is used for the treatment and prevention of ocular inflammatory processes of various origin, in operations for cataracts, as well as for the prevention of postoperative complications.

Indomethacin is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory preparation that effectively removes inflammation and pain by reducing the synthesis of prostaglandins, substances that directly affect the formation and maintenance of inflammation and the development of pain.

Indomethacin, an active ingredient in INDOKOLLIR, is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory preparation and has an anti-inflammatory and analgesic effect.

The main mechanism of the preparation is the inhibition of the synthesis of prostaglandins, which play an important role in the pathogenesis of inflammation and pain.

The preparation with a single instillation for several hours is determined in the anterior chamber of the eye. In the systemic bloodstream penetrates insignificantly.

Pharmacokinetics

There is confirmed evidence that the preparation penetrates into the anterior chamber of the eye. With a single instillation, the active substance of the preparation is determined in the moisture of the anterior chamber for several hours.

With topical application Indocollir systemic absorption is low.

Indications:

• Inhibition of miosis during surgery for cataracts.
• Treatment and prevention of inflammatory processes after surgical interventions on the eyeball.
• Prevention of cystic edema of the macula after operations for cataracts.
• Treatment of non-infectious conjunctivitis.
• Treatment and prevention of post-traumatic inflammatory process with penetrating and non-penetrating injuries of the eyeball (as an addition to local antimicrobial therapy).

Contraindications:

• Hypersensitivity to the components of the preparation.
• Hypersensitivity to acetylsalicylic acid or other NSAIDs, manifested by attacks of bronchial asthma, the appearance of urticaria, acute rhinitis.
• With caution apply Indocollir with:
• Epithelial herpetic keratitis (including in the anamnesis).
• Diseases that cause blood clotting disorder (including hemophilia, prolonged bleeding time, a tendency to bleed).

Special instructions:

Before instillation of the preparation, contact lenses must be removed; they can be installed 15 minutes after instillation.

The bottle must be closed after each use. Do not touch the tip of the pipette to the eye.

Application for violations of liver function

With caution apply the preparation for severe violations of liver function.

Impact on the ability to drive vehicles and manage mechanisms

Patients who temporarily lose visual clarity after application of the preparation are advised not to drive a car or work with complicated equipment, machines or any other complex equipment requiring clear vision immediately after instillation of the preparation.

Suggested Use:

Inhibition of intraoperative miosis

To inhibit intraoperative miosis, the preparation is instilled in 1 drop into the conjunctival sac for 2 hours at intervals of 30 minutes (4 times) before the operation.

Prevention of cystic edema

To prevent cystic edema of the macula, the preparation is instilled 1 drop 3-4 times / day for 1 month after the operation.

At other indications appoint 1 drop 3-4 times / day depending on the severity of the condition. The course of treatment can last from 1 to 4 weeks.
