Product description

Prolatan eye drops - which are used to treat increased intraocular pressure in individuals suffering from open-angle glaucoma, chronic closed-angle glaucoma, and an elevated ophthalmotonus. Prolatan is an antiglaucoma and a miotic preparation. The therapeutic effect is achieved due to the active ingredient in its composition - latanoprost, which increases the outflow of watery moisture by the uveoscleral route.

The active substance of the solution Prolatan - prostaglandin latanoprost, which is an analogue of prostaglandin F 2α. Its effect leads to a decrease in intraocular pressure, which is achieved by increasing the outflow of watery moisture (uveoscleral outflow). According to the results of clinical studies, the preparation has no significant effect on the amount of intraocular moisture produced, does not affect the hemato-ophthalmic barrier.

Indications:

• Increased ophthalmotonus (increase in IOP).
• Open angle glaucoma.

Contraindications:

• Individual hypersensitivity reactions
• Age before 1 year
• Lactation

With caution, the solution of Prolatan should be administered with: aphakia, pseudoafakia and rupture of the posterior capsular mucus; macular edema (including anamnesis); congenital, neovascular, inflammatory glaucoma; asthma; herpetic keratitis.

Suggested Use:

For adult patients and children after 1 year, the standard dosage is one drop of Prolatan solution once a day in the affected eye conjunctivally. The optimal effect is achieved if the preparation is used in the evening. When a dose is missed, the next dose is administered at the usual time.
