Aurobindo Pharma

Aurobindo Pharma is an international Indian pharmaceutical company headquartered in Hyderabad. It specializes in the production of active pharmacological ingredients and generics, in particular antibiotics and antiviral drugs. The main market is the USA (50% of revenue).

The company was founded in 1986, its first product was semi-synthetic penicillin. In 1995, Aurobindo Pharma listed its shares on two Indian stock exchanges. In 2000, the company started supplying medicines to the USA, and in 2003 it created a joint venture in China. In 2006, the British company Milpharm was bought. In September 2011, a joint venture was established in Russia with OJSC "Diode" for the production and sale of generics[3]. In 2014, some European operations of the Actavis company were bought. In 2017, the Portuguese company Generis Farmaceutica was bought.

Activity

The company's production facilities are located in India, the USA, Brazil and Portugal, and its research laboratories are located in India and the USA. Half of the revenue comes from the USA, 24% from Europe, 8% from India.
