Pharmacological properties

Pharmacodynamics. Carboderm-Darnitsa cream has a hydrating, keratolytic, antipruritic, antibacterial and antifungal effect. due to the use of the cream, the manifestations of hyperkeratosis are reduced, the skin softens and moisturizes, its elasticity increases, and the epithelialization of superficial lesions improves.

Urea in a dosage form with a concentration of 10% acts bactericidal and fungicidal due to cetylpyridinium chloride, which is part of the preparation. Due to the weak local anesthetic effect of urea, the preparation has an antipruritic effect.

Pharmacokinetics. High molecular weight polymeric substances of the ointment base keep urea on the skin surface at the site of application, prevent its transdermal absorption, thanks to which urea does not enter the systemic circulation.

Indications

Skin diseases accompanied by increased formation of keratinized epithelium: used to treat psoriasis (in the stationary stage with severe infiltration), seborrhea, keratomycosis, hyperkeratosis, hyperkeratic forms of eczema, ichthyosis.

Application

The preparation  is used in adults.

The doctor prescribes the dose of the cream individually, depending on the type of disease, the degree of damage and the size of the affected area. Apply the cream (on average 1–4 cm) to the affected area of ​​the skin 2 times a day. To increase the effectiveness of treatment, it is possible to use occlusive dressings.

The duration of treatment, which can be on average 1–2 weeks, is determined by the doctor individually, depending on the type and severity of the disease, taking into account the regression of the symptoms of infiltration and lichenification of the skin.

Contraindications

Increased individual sensitivity to urea or other components of the cream, as well as with dermatosis, accompanied by severe exudation.

Side effects

In isolated cases, dermatological reactions may develop: skin redness, itching, tingling, and skin irritation. possible local allergic reactions, including contact dermatitis.

In rare cases, a burning sensation may appear, more often when an occlusive dressing is applied.

If any adverse reactions occur, you should stop using the preparation and be sure to consult a doctor.

Special instructions

Avoid contact with eyes and mucous membranes.

To prevent exposure to healthy tissues, it is desirable that the area of ​​the skin to which the cream is to be applied does not exceed the size of the affected area.

Do not use to treat acute inflammation of damaged skin.

During pregnancy and breastfeeding. The preparation is used during pregnancy and lactation as directed by a doctor.

Children. Not used in children due to lack of clinical experience.

The ability to influence the reaction rate when driving and working with other mechanisms. The preparation  does not affect the reaction rate when driving vehicles and working with complex mechanisms.

Interactions

Interactions of Carboderm-Darnitsa cream with other preparations have not been identified, however, it should be borne in mind that the simultaneous use of the preparation with other ointments or creams can lead to increased resorption of the preparations that make up their composition (especially corticosteroids).

The simultaneous use of other preparations containing urea and its derivatives is not recommended.

Overdose

No cases of overdose of the preparation Carboderm-Darnitsa have been recorded.

In case of accidental ingestion of a large amount of the preparation and the occurrence of symptoms of intoxication, consult a doctor.
