Indications for use:

The preparation  is used for the symptomatic treatment of patients suffering from acute respiratory diseases and influenza, which are accompanied by fever, rhinorrhea, sore throat and muscle pain.

Mode of application:

The preparation is intended for preparation of a solution for oral administration. Before use, the contents of the sachet should be completely dissolved in a glass of hot drinking water. The preparationis taken regardless of food intake. The duration of the course of treatment and the dose of the preparation are determined by the attending physician individually for each patient.

Adults and children over the age of 12 are usually prescribed 1 sachet of the preparation  1-4 times a day. The interval between doses of the preparation should be at least 4 hours. The maximum daily dose of the preparation is 4 sachets.

The duration of the course of treatment should not exceed 5 days, unless otherwise prescribed by the attending physician.

If, within 3 days after the start of preparation therapy, the increased body temperature does not decrease or there is a repeated increase in body temperature, you should consult your doctor.

Side effects:

The preparation is usually well tolerated by patients; in isolated cases, the development of such side effects was noted when using the Coldrex MaxGripp preparation:

From the gastrointestinal tract and liver: nausea, vomiting, dry mouth, diarrhea, increased activity of liver enzymes.

From the side of the cardiovascular system and the hematopoietic system: increased blood pressure, heart rhythm disturbances, thrombocytopenia, neutropenia, leukopenia, anemia, pancytopenia, agranulocytosis.

From the side of the central nervous system: headache, disturbance of sleep and wakefulness, loss of consciousness.

From the urinary system: oliguria, renal colic, nephrotoxic effect.

Allergic reactions: skin rash, itching, urticaria, Quincke's edema.

Contraindications:

Increased individual sensitivity to the components of the drug.

Severe hepatic and / or renal failure, arterial hypertension, diseases of the cardiovascular system.

The preparation is contraindicated in patients with hyperthyroidism, diabetes mellitus, as well as in patients taking beta-blockers, monoamine oxidase inhibitors or tricyclic antidepressants. Taking the preparation is possible no earlier than 2 weeks after the end of taking preparations of the group of monoamine oxidase inhibitors.

The preparation is not prescribed for women during pregnancy, as well as for children under the age of 12 years.

The preparation should be prescribed with caution to patients suffering from angina pectoris, liver disease, impaired renal function, as well as patients over the age of 65 years.

Pregnancy:

The use of the preparation during pregnancy is contraindicated.

If it is necessary to use the preparation during lactation, you should consult with your doctor and decide on the interruption of breastfeeding.

Interaction with other medicinal products:

The preparation is not compatible with other preparations used for the symptomatic treatment of acute respiratory diseases, preparations  containing paracetamol, and ethyl alcohol.

With the combined use of the preparation with anticoagulants, there is an increase in the therapeutic effect of the latter and an increase in the risk of bleeding.

Cholestyramine with simultaneous use reduces the absorption of paracetamol, and domperidone and metoclopramide - increase.

Monoamine oxidase inhibitors, when used simultaneously with the preparation, increase the risk of developing arterial hypertension.

Phenylephrine hydrochloride, when combined, weakens the therapeutic effect of beta-blockers and antihypertensive preparations.

Overdose:

When using overestimated doses of the preparation, patients develop nausea, vomiting, headache, pallor of the skin, arterial hypertension. With a further increase in the dose, the development of hepatic failure is possible, with the use of more than 10 sachets of the preparation, the development of encephalopathy, metabolic acidosis and coma is possible at the same time.

In case of an overdose of the preparation, hospitalization is indicated, if less than 2 hours have passed after taking the preparation, gastric lavage is performed. In addition, in case of an overdose, symptomatic therapy is indicated. For paracetamol poisoning, oral methionine and intravenous acetylcysteine ​​are prescribed.

Release form:

Powder for preparation of a solution for oral administration, 6.4 g in sachets, 5 or 10 sachets in a carton box.

Storage conditions:

The preparation is recommended to be stored in a dry place away from direct sunlight at a temperature of 15 to 25 degrees Celsius.

Shelf life is 3 years.
