Deriva C gel is indicated for the topical treatment of common acne (acne vulgaris).

Structure

Active ingredients: adapalene, clindamycin;

1 g of gel contains adapalene 1 mg, clindamycin (in the form of clindamycin phosphate) 10 mg;

Excipients: sodium edetate, carbomer 940, propylene glycol, methylparaben (E 218), poloxamer 407, phenoxyethanol, sodium hydroxide, purified water.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to adapalene or other components of the preparation.

Enteritis, ulcerative colitis, antibiotic-associated colitis (in history), Crohn's disease.

Mode of application

The preparation should be used in adults and children over 12 years of age.

The gel is applied in a thin layer on clean, dry skin in places of rashes 1 time a day, at night.

During the first weeks of treatment, an exacerbation of the acne process is possible due to the effect of the active substance on lesions that were previously invisible. In this case, you should not stop treatment, the therapeutic effect is observed after 8-12 weeks from the start of treatment.

Overdose

Side effects

Redness, peeling, dryness, itching and burning of the skin at the site of application of the gel immediately after its application, which disappears in the future. Allergic reactions, photosensitivity, acne, tingling sensation, gram-negative folliculitis, gastrointestinal disorders, abdominal pain, urticaria, increased skin oiliness, contact dermatitis, burning eyes, occasionally there are side reactions in the form of diarrhea, diarrhea mixed with blood and colitis (including pseudomembranous colitis).

Interaction

Since Deriva aqueous gel can cause local irritation in some patients, the concomitant use of other potentially irritating topical preparations, including cosmetics, increases the risk of unwanted skin exposure.

Care should be taken to prescribe the preparation with preparations containing sulfur, resorcinol or salicylic acid.

Clindamycin has the ability to block neuromuscular transmission, which can lead to an increase in the action of other preparations with similar properties. Therefore, it should be used with caution in patients receiving such preparations. There is cross-resistance between clindamycin and lincomycin. Antagonism between erythromycin and clindamycin has also been noted.
