Product description

Dermazole® cream is intended for topical use in the treatment of skin infections caused by dermatophytes: epidermophytosis of the body, hands, feet, epidermophytosis, caused by Trichophyton rubrum, Trichophyton mentagrophytes, Microsporum canis and Epidermophyton floccosum - as well as for the treatment of candidiasis of the skin and bran. The preparation should also be prescribed for the treatment of seborrheic dermatitis, a skin condition associated with the presence of Malassezia furfur.

Structure

The active ingredient is ketoconazole (1 g of cream contains 20 mg of ketoconazole).
Excipients: propylene glycol, cetosteril alcohol, cetomacrogol 1000, white soft paraffin, mineral light oil, disodium edetate, sodium sulfite anhydrous (E 221), polysorbate 80, purified water.

Contraindications

Dermazole® cream is contraindicated for persons with hypersensitivity to ketoconazole or to any of the ingredients of the preparation.

Mode of application

Apply Dermazole® cream externally. Apply the cream to the affected skin and surrounding areas. General hygiene practices must be followed to control sources of infection and reinfection.
For all patients, the duration of treatment should be based on the individual response to therapy.
Recommended dosage:
  • candidiasis of the skin (yeast infections) - once a day for 2-3 weeks;
  • pityriasis versicolor - once a day for 2-3 weeks;
  • epidermophytosis inguinal - 1 time per day for 2-4 weeks;
  • epidermophytosis of the body - once a day for 3-4 weeks;
  • epidermophytosis of the hands - 1 time per day for 4-6 weeks;
  • epidermophytosis of the feet - once a day for 4-6 weeks;
  • seborrheic dermatitis (main therapy) - 1-2 times a day for 2-4 weeks;
  • seborrheic dermatitis (maintenance therapy) - 1 or 2 times a week.
Treatment should be continued for a sufficient time, at least for a few more days after all symptoms have disappeared. If the symptoms of the disease do not disappear after 4 weeks of treatment, the diagnosis should be reconsidered.

Application features

Pregnant
There are no adequate and well-controlled studies of the use of ketoconazole cream in pregnant and lactating women. After topical application of ketoconazole in the blood plasma of non-pregnant women is not detected. The risks associated with the use of the preparation during pregnancy and lactation are unknown.
Children
There is no experience of using Dermazole® cream in children.
Drivers
The preparation does not affect the ability to drive vehicles or operate other mechanisms.

Overdose

Topical application of the cream in excess can cause erythema, edema, skin burn sensation, which quickly disappear after discontinuation of therapy.
In case of accidental ingestion, supportive and symptomatic therapeutic measures should be taken.

Side effects

From the immune system: hypersensitivity reactions.
On the part of the skin and subcutaneous tissue: burning sensation, rashes, bullous rashes, contact dermatitis, peeling or stickiness of the skin, urticaria.

Storage conditions
