Product description

Dexa-Gentamicin eye drops are indicated for inflammation of the anterior segment of the eye with concomitant infectious diseases caused by bacterial strains sensitive to gentamicin, or with the risk of bacterial infections.

Structure

Active ingredients: dexamethasone sodium phosphate, gentamicin sulfate;

1 ml contains 1 mg of dexamethasone and 5 mg of gentamicin sulfate (equivalent to 3 mg of gentamicin);

Excipients: benzalkonium chloride, potassium dihydrogen phosphate, potassium phosphate, sodium chloride, water for injection.

Contraindications

• hypersensitivity to active ingredients or to any excipients of the drug;
• epithelial herpetic keratitis and other viral diseases of the eye;
• wounds and ulcerative lesions of the cornea;
• closed and open-angle glaucoma;
• ocular tuberculosis;
• fungal or exclusively bacterial infections of the eye.

Mode of application

The drug is instilled into the conjunctival sac of the affected eye 1 drop 4-6 times a day.

Usually, the duration of treatment should not exceed 2 weeks. Depending on the clinical picture, the effectiveness of treatment should be periodically monitored in order to determine the advisability of prolonging or changing therapy.

When instilling eye drops, avoid any contact of the dropper tip with the eye or skin.

Pregnant

Eye drops should not be used in the first trimester of pregnancy, and during the subsequent period of pregnancy, the drug can be used only after a careful assessment of the benefits and risks of such use.

Children

There is no experience of using eye drops for the treatment of children.

Drivers

Immediately after using the drug, a short-term blurred vision is possible, therefore, before starting to drive vehicles or work with mechanisms, you should wait a few minutes.

Overdose

No cases of overdose have been reported. With proper use of the eye drops, overdose or intoxication is not expected.

Side effects

From the side of the organ of vision: temporary blurred vision, increased intraocular pressure (glaucoma), irreversible cataract, temporary accommodation disorders, uveitis, corneal perforation with existing keratitis, ptosis, mydriasis, delayed wound healing.

Interaction

The simultaneous use of dexamethasone ophthalmic preparations with atropine and other anticholinergics can lead to an additional increase in intraocular pressure.

With the simultaneous use of Dexa-Gentamicin with other topical ophthalmic drugs, a 15-minute interval should be maintained between applications.

Storage conditions

Store in its original packaging at a temperature not exceeding 25 ° C.
