Product description 

Dimetrio are hormones of the gonads and preparations used in the pathology of the genital organs. Progestogens. Indicated for the treatment of endometriosis.

Compound

1 coated tablet contains

dienogest 2 mg;

excipients: lactose, corn starch, (K-30), sodium starch (type A), magnesium stearate, purified water film coating: hypromellose (E 464), hydroxypropyl cellulose (E 463), talc (E 553b), hydrogenated cottonseed oil , titanium dioxide (E 171), purified water.

Contraindications

• Dimetrio should not be used in the presence of any of the following conditions or diseases. If any of these conditions or diseases occurs for the first time during the use of the preparation Dimetrio, the preparation  should be stopped immediately.
• venous thromboembolism in an active form;
• history of arterial or cardiovascular disease (eg myocardial infarction, cerebrovascular event, ischemic heart disease);
• diabetes mellitus with vascular damage.

Mode of application

Take 1 tablet daily without interruption in taking the preparation at approximately the same time with a small amount of liquid. The tablets can be taken with or without food.

Tablets should be taken regularly, regardless of menstrual bleeding. As soon as the tablets from one package are over, start taking the tablets from the next package without interrupting the use of the preparation.

There is no experience of treating patients with endometriosis with Dimetrio for more than 15 months.

You can start taking the preparation on any day of the menstrual cycle.

The use of any hormonal contraceptives should be discontinued prior to initiation of therapy with Dimetrio. If contraception is needed, a non-hormonal method of preventing pregnancy (such as a barrier method) should be used additionally.

Application features

Since Dimetrio is a progestogen-only preparation, it is believed that special precautions and precautions for the use of progestin-only preparations also apply to Dimetrio, although not all warnings and precautions are based on the relevant results of clinical studies of this particular preparation.

In case of worsening or first occurrence of any of the following conditions/risk factors, a risk/benefit analysis should be carried out on an individual basis before starting or continuing to use Dimetrio.

Severe uterine bleeding

Uterine bleeding, for example, in women with uterine adenomyosis or uterine leiomyoma may increase with Dimetrio. If the bleeding is severe and does not stop for a long time, it can lead to anemia (in some cases, severe). In this case, you need to consider stopping the preparation.

pregnant

Dimetrio is not recommended for pregnant women, as there is no need to treat endometriosis during pregnancy.

Children

Dimetrio is not indicated for use in children before menarche.

Drivers

No effect on the ability to drive vehicles and operate machinery was observed in patients taking preparations containing dienogest.

Overdose

Acute toxicity studies conducted with Dienogest did not indicate the risk of developing acute adverse reactions in case of unintentional intake of several daily therapeutic doses. There are no specific antidotes. The use of 20-30 mg of dienogest per day (which is 10-15 times higher than the dose in a Dimetrio tablet) for more than 24 weeks was very well tolerated.

Side effects

Metabolism and metabolic disorders: weight gain, weight loss, increased appetite.

Mental disorders: depressed mood, sleep disturbance, nervousness, decreased libido, mood changes, anxiety, depression, mood lability.

From the nervous system: headache, migraine, impaired autonomic regulation, impaired attention.

On the part of the organs of vision: dry eyes.

Storage conditions

There are no special requirements for the storage of the preparation.
