The dietary supplement Doppelherz Aktiv Folic acid and Vitamins is a vital and irreplaceable vitamin that the body needs to maintain numerous metabolic processes.

Indications for use

As a hematopoietic stimulant:

• with hyperchromic macrocytic and megaloblastic anemias, which are caused by folic acid deficiency;
• in the therapy of sprue as a means to relieve or reduce the symptoms of the disease, normalize erythropoiesis;
• leukopenia and anemia, which have developed due to the action of ionizing radiation, chemical (medicinal) substances;
• anemia after surgery for resection of the stomach or part of the intestine;
• megaloblastic anemia due to intestinal tuberculosis or gastroenteritis (including for the prevention of anemia in these conditions);
• pellagra;
• pernicious anemia.

For preventive purposes:

• preventive treatment for pregnancy and breastfeeding.

Contraindications

Allergic reactions to folic acid.

Mode of application

The tablets are taken orally after meals.

For therapeutic purposes, it is recommended to take 1-2 tablets 1-3 r / day. The daily dose is 5 tablets.

Children can be prescribed folic acid from 3 years old: 0.25 mg (1/4 tablet), maximum 2 tablets / day.

The duration of folic acid intake is from 20 to 30 days.

Pregnant women are recommended to take 4 tablets / day. During lactation - 3 tablets / day.

Overdose

Folic acid overdose has not been reported.

Side effects

Folic acid is generally well tolerated. Allergic reactions are possible, which are stopped by taking antiallergic drugs, discontinuing the drug or reducing its dose.

Interaction with other medicinal products and other forms of interaction

In combination with neomycin, chloramphenicol, tetracyclines and polymyxin, a decrease in the absorption of folic acid in the intestine is observed. Folic acid can reduce the effectiveness of PASK, primidone, hormonal oral contraceptives, sulfosalazine, phenytoin, chlorphenicol by accelerating their metabolism.
