Product description
Eglonyl has antipsychotic, antidepressant, antiautism and stimulating effects. The neuroleptic effect is associated with a selective blockade of dopamine receptors.
Also has antiemetic action.
Indications
- acute and chronic psychoses;
- sluggish schizophrenia;
- neurotic states;
- psychosomatic diseases;
- psychoaffective disorders;
- migraine;
- behavioral disorders in childhood;
- as an aid in peptic ulcer of the stomach and duodenum.
Release form
- capsules 50 mg No. 30 (15x2), No. 30 (30x1) in blisters;
- tablets of 200 mg No. 12, No. 60 (12x5) in blisters;
- solution for injections 100 mg/2 ml 2 ml No. 6 in ampoules.
Mode of application
Eglonyl ampoules: used for adults with acute and chronic psychoses. Treatment begins with intramuscular injections at a dose of 400-800 mg per day and continues in most cases for 2 weeks. The course of treatment is determined by the doctor.
Eglonyl tablets: for acute and chronic schizophrenia, depression: the daily dose is 200 - 1000 mg, divided into several doses, washed down with a small amount of water.
Capsules: used for neurosis and anxiety in adults, the daily dose is 50-150 mg. The course should not exceed 4 weeks.
Children from 6 years of age: in severe behavioral disorders, the daily dose is 5-10 mg per kg of body weight.
Children
Capsules are used for children from 6 years.
Tablets and ampoules are not prescribed for children.
Contraindications
- hypersensitivity to the active substance or to any other component of the preparation;
- acute intoxication with ethanol, hypnotics, opioid analgesics;
- pheochromocytoma;
- prolactin-dependent tumors;
- pregnancy and breastfeeding.
Overdose
In case of an overdose, you should immediately consult a doctor!
Symptoms: dyskinesia with spastic torticollis, protrusion of the tongue and trismus, blurred vision, arterial hypertension, sedation, nausea, extrapyramidal symptoms, dry mouth, vomiting, increased sweating. Some patients have Parkinson's syndrome or even coma.
Treatment: the preparation is partially excreted by hemodialysis. Due to the lack of a specific antidote, symptomatic and supportive therapy should be used, with careful monitoring of respiratory function and constant monitoring of cardiac activity, which should continue until the patient has completely recovered.
Compound
The active substance of Eglonyl is sulpiride.
