Oral drops "Espumizan ® L" are used for the following indications:

• for symptomatic treatment of complaints from the gastrointestinal tract associated with gas formation, for example, flatulence, colic in infants;
• as an aid in diagnostic studies of the abdominal cavity, such as X-ray studies, ultrasound diagnostics and preparation for gastroduodenoscopy;
• as a defoamer in case of intoxication with surface-active substances (washing powders or detergents).

Storage

The active substance is simeticone (1 ml of oral drops, emulsion (25 drops) contains simeticone 40 mg).

Excipients: polyethylene glycol stearate, glycerol monostearate, carbomer, banana flavoring (contains flavors identical to natural ones and propylene glycol), acesulfame potassium, non-crystallizing sorbitol solution (E 420), sodium chloride, sodium citrate, sodium hydroxide, sorbic acid , the water is purified.

Contraindication

Hypersensitivity to the active substance or to any of the excipients, complete intestinal obstruction.

Application method

25 drops - 1 ml of emulsion.

For symptomatic treatment of complaints from the gastrointestinal tract associated with gas formation, for example, flatulence, colic in infants:

• children under one year - add 25 drops (1 ml) to a bottle of baby food at each feeding or give with a small spoon before or after breastfeeding;
• children aged 1-6 years - 25 drops (1 ml) 3-5 times a day;
• children aged 6-14 years - 25-50 drops (1-2 ml) 3-5 times a day;
• children aged 14 and over and adults - 50 drops (2 ml) 3-5 times a day.

As an auxiliary tool in diagnostic studies of the abdominal cavity:

• x-ray examination, ultrasound diagnosis:
• the day before the study - 2 ml 3 times a day (50 drops 3 times a day);
• on the day of the study - 2 ml (50 drops);
• as an additive to the contrast agent suspension - 4-8 ml (100-200 drops) per 1 liter of contrast agent suspension to obtain an image with double contrast;
• to prepare for gastroduodenoscopy: before the endoscopy, use 4-8 ml (100-200 drops), if necessary during the examination, several milliliters of emulsion can be introduced through the instrumental channel of the endoscope to eliminate gas bubbles.

As an antidote for surfactant poisoning (depending on the severity of the poisoning):

• children - 2.5-10 ml (from 65 drops to 1/3 of the contents of the bottle);
• adults - 10-20 ml (from 1/3 to 2/3 of the contents of the bottle).

Method of use

"Espumisan ® L" should be taken during or after meals, and if necessary - before bedtime. The preparation can also be used in the postoperative period.

Shake before use, to dispense drops, hold the bottle vertically with the opening down.

The duration of treatment depends on the presence of complaints and is decided individually.

If necessary, "Espumizan ® L" can be used for a long time.

No effects during pregnancy and breastfeeding are expected, as the systemic effect of simethicone is insignificant. "Espumizan ® L" can be used during pregnancy and breastfeeding.

Non-clinical data do not indicate a particular danger to human fertility.

Children

The preparation can be used in pediatric practice.

"Espumsan ® L" does not or has a negligible effect on the ability to drive vehicles or other mechanisms.

Overdose

Until now, cases of overdose are unknown. Since simethicone is chemically and physiologically inert, intoxication is practically excluded. Even a significant amount of the preparation "Espumisan ® L" is tolerated without symptoms. In case of using doses higher than recommended, you should consult a doctor.

Side effects

In some cases, when using the preparation "Espumisan ® L", skin reactions of hypersensitivity, including itching, rash, urticaria, were observed.

Storage conditions

No special storage conditions are required. Keep out of the reach of children.

Shelf life - 3 years (after first opening - 6 months).
