Indications

Treatment of seasonal or perennial allergic rhinitis in adults and children 2 years of age and older (prophylactic treatment of moderate to severe allergic rhinitis is recommended to start 4 weeks before the expected start of the pollen season).

As an auxiliary therapeutic agent in the treatment of acute episodes of sinusitis with antibiotics in adults (including the elderly) and children from 12 years of age.

Treatment of symptoms of acute rhinosinusitis without signs of severe bacterial infection in adults and children 12 years of age and older.

Treatment of nasal polyps and associated symptoms, including nasal congestion and loss of smell, in patients over 18 years of age.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to the active substance or other excipients of the preparation.

Compound

active ingredient: mometasone;

1 spray dose contains mometasone furoate 50 mcg;

other components: microcrystalline cellulose and carmellose sodium; sodium citrate; glycerol; citric acid, monohydrate; polysorbate 80; benzalkonium chloride; water is purified.

Dosage form

Spray nasal, dosed, suspension.

Basic physical and chemical properties: white or almost white suspension.

Mode of application

The preparation  is intended for intranasal use.

Before each use of the preparation, the nose should be thoroughly cleared of mucus.

Before using a new vial, it should be calibrated. Calibration is carried out by approximately 10 clicks of the dosing device, which establishes a stereotypical supply of the preparation  substance, in which with each click approximately 100 mg of a suspension containing 50 μg of mometasone (1 dose) is ejected. If the nasal spray is not used for 14 days or longer, a second spray is necessary before subsequent use with 2 pumps until full delivery is observed. Do not pierce the nozzle before use.

Shake the bottle vigorously before each use.

If the nozzle is clogged, you need to remove the plastic cap by gently pressing on the white ring, it is easy to remove the nozzle and rinse with warm running water, dry and install in its original place. Do not attempt to clean the nozzle with a needle or other sharp object as this will damage the dispenser. Regular cleaning of the nozzle is very important.

Children.

When used in children at a daily dose of 100 mcg per year, growth retardation was not observed.

The safety and efficacy of intranasal mometasone have not been studied in the treatment of nasal polyps in children and adolescents (under 18 years of age), symptoms of rhinosinusitis in children under 12 years of age, and seasonal or perennial allergic rhinitis in children under 2 years of age.
