Composition of 1 ampoule

Active ingredients: N-acetylcysteine ​​300 mg (mg), sodium chloride 150 mg (mg);

Excipients: sodium hydroxide, sodium edetate, water for injection.

Sterile buffered hypertonic sodium chloride solution. Hypertonic saline solutions, which are applied directly to the mucous membrane of the upper respiratory tract, take water from the intracellular to the extracellular space by osmosis. This increases the percentage of water in the mucus lining the epithelium, which makes it thinner and thus easier to remove.

N-acetylcysteine

The acetylated version of the amino acid cysteine ​​exhibits mucolytic action upon direct contact with mucus. This is due to the presence in the molecule of sulfhydryl radicals that can destroy the disulfide bonds of acidic mucopolysaccharides of sputum (providing mucus viscosity) by depolymerizing macromolecules. The agent remains active in the presence of purulent sputum. It has an indirect antioxidant effect associated with an increase in the synthesis of an antioxidant compound - glutathione, as well as a direct antioxidant effect, protecting the cells of the respiratory epithelium from damage by free radicals.

Indications for use

Sterile solution for nebulizer and instillations "FLU-ACIL broncho" - a medical device in disposable ampoules, indicated for the treatment of respiratory diseases accompanied by hypersecretion of dense and viscous sputum: acute bronchitis, chronic bronchitis and its complications, pulmonary emphysema, cystic fibrosis, bronchiectasis sinusitis, secretory otitis media.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to the active ingredients of the product or any excipients, children under 2 years of age. Peptic ulcer and duodenal ulcer in the acute stage, hemoptysis, pulmonary hemorrhage.

During pregnancy and lactation, the use of a sterile solution for nebulizer and instillation "FLU-ACIL broncho" is possible only if the intended benefit to the mother outweighs the potential risk to the fetus or child and under the direct supervision of a physician.

Method of administration and dosage

Nebulizer inhalation to reach the bronchial mucosa; direct instillation into the ear and rinsing the nose; introduction of small doses endobronchially through indwelling catheters, during bronchoscopy, etc.;

Nebulizer aerosol injection:

adults - one ampoule per session 1-2 times a day for 5-10 days,

children aged 2 years - up to 1 ampoule per session 1-2 times a day for 5-10 days.

The dose of the agent and the frequency of sessions can be changed by the physician in a wide range, depending on the clinical and therapeutic effect, without the need to significantly differentiate the doses for adults or children.

Instillation and washing of ears and other cavities: ½ ampoule or 1 ampoule per session.

Endotracheal-bronchial instillations: up to 1 ampoule per application, 1-2 times a day or as needed.

Overdose

Excessive doses of a sterile solution for a nebulizer and instillations of "FLU-ACIL broncho" during inhalation and endotracheal-bronchial administration of the agent can lead to a volumetric and excessive secretion of liquid secretion, which in the case of patients with suppressed cough reflex and expectoration may lead to the need for bronchoalveolar lavage (lavage).

Side effects

Due to the high salt concentration, when using a sterile solution for nebulizer and instillation "FLU-ACIL broncho", it is possible to provoke episodic localized irritating phenomena that can cause bronchospasm, burning sensation in the nasal mucosa, rhinorrhea, nausea, vomiting.

Among such phenomena, the cough reflex, within acceptable limits, must be perceived positively, since it contributes to expectoration and unblocking of the airways.

Side effects when using a sterile solution for a nebulizer and instillations "FLU-ACIL broncho" usually disappear on their own after discontinuation. If they persist, you should see your doctor.

Compliance with the instructions for use reduces the risk of side effects.

Warning

The last inhalation should be done no later than 3-4 hours before bedtime (approximately until 18:00) in order to have time to evacuate sputum before bedtime. To enhance hydration and mucolytic effect, it is advisable to drink a sufficient amount of fluids.

When you open the ampoule of a sterile solution for nebulizer and instillation "FLU-ACIL broncho", a sulfuric smell is released, which does not affect the use of the preparation.

A solution of N-acetylcysteine, when stored in open ampoules or transferred to aerosol equipment, in rare cases may acquire a light pink color, which does not affect the effectiveness and tolerability of the preparation.

Taking N-acetylcysteine, mainly at the beginning of therapy, can dilute the secretion of the bronchial glands and increase its volume. If the patient is unable to effectively cough up sputum, postural drainage or bronchoaspiration should be performed to avoid sputum congestion.

Patients with bronchial asthma, during the period of therapy with a sterile solution for nebulizer and instillations "FLU-ACIL broncho", must be under the supervision of a physician. If bronchospasm develops, N-acetylcysteine ​​should be stopped immediately and appropriate treatment initiated.
