"Folio" is an original combination of folic acid and iodine from the German company Steripharm, specially designed for women planning pregnancy, pregnant and breastfeeding.

Active substances

Folic acid

It is a water-soluble B vitamin (vitamin B9). It is partially synthesized in the intestines, but most of it comes from food. It takes part in the formation of ribonucleic and deoxyribonucleic acids, actively participates in the biosynthesis of nonessential amino acids, as well as irreplaceable ones - glycine, methionine. Provides the exchange of proteins necessary for the formation of tissues and organs, reducing the likelihood of malformations, and reducing the risk of prematurity and fetal malnutrition. Participates in the processes of hematopoiesis and maturation of megaloblasts, its deficiency is the main cause of anemia during pregnancy.

Iodine

It is necessary for the full functioning of the thyroid gland, which regulates the maturation of the fetal nervous tissue. During lactation, iodine deficiency causes the development of hypogalactia. The thyroid gland of the fetus already from the end of the first trimester of pregnancy begins to produce thyroid hormones, and the only source of iodine for it is iodine circulating in the mother's body. Intrauterine iodine supply leads to spontaneous miscarriages and a severe consequence of iodine deficiency in the fetus and newborn, which is manifested by a slowdown in the development of bone tissue, lungs, impaired brain formation and, associated with it, insufficient development of the central nervous system, hearing defects, delayed psychomotor and mental development.

It can be recommended by a doctor for use in diets with an unbalanced and irrational diet, in order to correct the chemical composition of the diet, as an additional source of folic acid and iodine, especially for women who are planning pregnancy and during pregnancy.

Folic Acid - 400 mcg

Iodine 200 mcg (in the form of potassium iodides)

Excipients (up to a tablet weight of 95 mg): lactose, microcrystalline cellulose (E460), silicic acid, glucose, magnesium stearate (E470).

Does not contain GMOs.

Mode of application

Adults - one tablet for breakfast with meals.
