Indications:

treatment of acute and recurrent uncomplicated lower urinary tract infections.

Composition:

1 tablet contains: 50mg furagine and excipients: lactose monohydrate, potato starch, sucrose, polysorbate 80, stearic acid.

Action:

furagine is a derivative of nitrofuran that inhibits the growth of both gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria that cause urinary tract infections.

Dosage:

adults and adolescents over 15 years: first day of treatment: 2 tablets 4 times a day; next days: 2 tablets 3 times a day. The preparation should be taken with meals containing protein, which increases the absorption of the preparation. Le apply for 7-8 days.

Contraindications:

hypersensitivity to furagine, other nitrofuran derivatives or any of the other ingredients of the preparation; hepatic impairment in the first trimester of pregnancy; in children and adolescents under 15 years of age; renal failure; polyneuropathy; deficiency of glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenzay, electrolyte disorders, deficiency of B vitamins, lung diseases.

FURAGINUM US PHARMACIA Tabletes

Indications: Furaginum US Pharmacia is a preparation recommended for use in acute and recurrent uncomplicated lower urinary tract infections.

Properties: The active substance of Furaginum US Pharmacia is furagin. Furagin - an organic chemical compound, a derivative of nitrofuran, is used as an antibacterial preparation. It is active against many bacterial strains, both gram-positive and gram-negative, in the urinary tract that are responsible for causing urinary tract infections. The mechanism of the bactericidal action of furagin is not fully understood. Probably, this preparation is reduced in the bacterial cell to the form of metabolites that are toxic to this cell. These compounds in turn fragment the bacterial DNA. Furagin is well absorbed from the digestive tract.

Components:

1 tablet of the preparation contains 50 mg of furagin.

Other ingredients: lactose monohydrate, potato starch, sucrose, polysorbate 80, stearic acid.

Use:  Furaginum US Pharmacia should always be used exactly as described in the patient information leaflet or as prescribed by the doctor. In case of doubt, a medical or pharmaceutical consultation is required. The usual dose is:

- adults and adolescents over 15 years of age: during the first day of treatment, it is recommended to take 2 tablets 4 times a day, on the following days the dose should be reduced to 2 tablets 3 times a day.

The preparation should be taken orally with meals containing a protein that increases the absorption of the preparation. Usually the preparation is used for 7-8 days. However, if symptoms worsen after this time or do not improve, see your doctor. If necessary, the treatment can be repeated after 10-15 days.

Important information: The preparation should not be used in case of hypersensitivity to the active substance, nitrofuran derivatives or any of the excipients. It is not recommended to use the preparation in the first trimester of pregnancy; from the 38th week of pregnancy and during childbirth. Not recommended for children and adolescents under 15 years of age. Renal insufficiency (creatinine clearance below 60 ml / min or increased serum creatinine concentration), diagnosed polyneuropathy, e.g. diabetic, and deficiency of the preparation glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase also constitute contraindications to the use of the preparation.
