Gastro-Teva lozenges are indicated for symptomatic treatment of diseases of the digestive tract, accompanied by increased acidity of gastric juice, with or without heartburn, such as: peptic ulcer, gastritis, reflux esophagitis or hiatal hernia.

Active ingredient: 1 tablet contains 450 mg of dried aluminum hydroxide-magnesium carbonate gel, 300 mg of magnesium hydroxide;

Excipients: mannitol (E 421), sorbitol (E 420), lactose, corn starch, sodium cyclamate, sodium saccharin, talc, magnesium stearate, mint flavor.

Hypersensitivity to magnesium and aluminum salts or other components of the preparation. Severe renal failure (acute and chronic), Alzheimer's disease, hypophosphatemia, recurrent constipation, chronic diarrhea, severe abdominal pain of unspecified origin.

Adults and children over 12 years old: 1-2 tablets 4-6 times a day, about 1 hour after meals, and in the evening before bedtime (no more than 8 tablets per day).

The term of treatment is no more than 2 weeks.

For heartburn, it is used in the same dosage, regardless of the time of the meal.

Children aged 6 to 12 years: 1 tablet 4 times a day, 1 hour after meals, and in the evening before bedtime (no more than 4 tablets per day).

Gastro-Teva tablets should be slowly sucked and in no case swallowed whole, since the resorption of the tablet accelerates the onset of the preparation and enhances the effect of the preparation.

There were no cases of acute overdose.

High doses can cause nausea, vomiting, decreased appetite, diarrhea, and constipation.

With prolonged use of high doses, hypophosphatemia, hypocalcemia, hypercalciuria, muscle weakness, decreased tendon reflexes, increased fatigue, arrhythmia, osteomalacia, osteoporosis, hypermagnesemia, hyperaluminaemia, encephalopathy, and nephrocalcinosis may occur.

On the part of the skin and subcutaneous tissue: hypersensitivity reactions (urticaria, dermatitis, pruritus, angioedema and anaphylactic reactions).

From the digestive tract: nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, constipation, discoloration of feces, abdominal pain.

From the side of metabolism and nutrition: hypermagnesemia (observed after prolonged use of magnesium hydroxide in patients with impaired renal function).

Gastro-Teva, like other antacids, interacts with some other preparations that are taken orally. On the one hand, it enhances the effect of levodopa and nalidixic acid. On the other hand, it reduces the effect of preparations taken simultaneously (there is a decrease in the volume of absorption from the gastrointestinal tract). As a preventive measure, a break should be taken between taking antacids and other medicines.
