Glenspray nasal spray is indicated for:

• Treatment of seasonal or perennial allergic rhinitis in adults and children over 2 years of age.
• Treating symptoms of acute sinusitis without signs of severe bacterial infection in adults and children over 12 years of age.
• Treat nasal polyps and related symptoms, including nasal congestion and loss of smell, in patients over the age of 18.

Structure

Active ingredient: mometasone furoate;

1 dose contains mometasone furoate monohydrate equivalent to mometasone furoate 50 mcg;

Excipients: microcrystalline cellulose and sodium carboxymethyl cellulose; glycerin citric acid monohydrate, sodium; polysorbate 80 benzalkonium chloride, water for injection.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to the components of the preparation.

Untreated local infection of the nasal mucosa.

Nose injury or recent nose surgery.

Mode of application

The preparation is intended for intranasal use only.

Shake the bottle vigorously before each use. Then remove the protective cap. Calibrate the bottle before using it for the first time. Calibration is carried out by approximately 10 pushes of the dosing device, during which a stereotyped delivery of the preparation is established, in which approximately 100 mg of a suspension containing 50 μg of mometasone (one dose) is emitted with each press. Pierce the tip before use.

Before each use, thoroughly cleanse the nose of mucus. After cleansing the nose, the suspension is injected into each nostril, while the head should be kept not tilted down. After use, the spray tip must be wiped off and covered with a protective cap.

Overdose

Due to the fact that the systemic bioavailability of the preparation is less than 1% (according to the results of a sensitive quantitation method, the lower limit of quantitation is 0.25 pg / ml), it is unlikely that in case of an overdose, other measures will be required, except for monitoring the patient's condition, followed by the use of the preparation in the recommended dose.

Inhalation or oral administration of high doses of corticosteroids for a long time can lead to inhibition of the function of the hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal system.

Side effects

During clinical studies with seasonal and year-round allergic rhinitis, the following side effects associated with the use of mometasone furoate were noted: headache, nosebleeds (that is, obvious bleeding, as well as the release of bloody mucus or blood clots), pharyngitis, burning sensation in the nose, irritation and ulcerative changes in the nasal mucosa.
