Peculiarities

The effect of the preparation is due to the hepatoprotective properties of the enriched phospholipids (lecithin), the biologically active substance of silymarin contained in the extract of the seeds of the medicinal plant milk thistle, and alpha-lipoic acid.

The action of all active ingredients has been clinically proven.

The enriched phospholipids, silymarin and alpha-lipoic acid, which are part of the preparation, due to the rationally selected combination, as well as the ratio of the components, and the complex effect on the hepatobiliary zone, provide a powerful hepatoprotective effect.

Active substances

Enriched phospholipids have hepatoprotective and hypocholesterolemic effects. In a healthy person, the outer membrane of the main liver cells (hepatocytes) contains a sufficient amount of phospholipids. With toxic (including preparation and alcoholic) liver damage, their content decreases, which leads to dysfunction of the cell membrane and disruption of the intracellular metabolism of hepatocytes, followed by the development of fatty degeneration and liver cirrhosis. Enriched phospholipids restore and preserve the cellular structure of the liver, normalize the energy balance of hepatocytes and slow down the formation of liver fibrosis. Enriched phospholipids increase the body's resistance to toxic substances by inhibiting the processes of lipid peroxidation (LPO), traditionally considered as one of the main mechanisms for the development of liver damage.

The flavonoid silymarin is the main active ingredient of the milk thistle seed extract, which helps stabilize the cell membranes of hepatocytes (especially in chronic inflammatory liver diseases, including viral etiology) and the transformation of aggressive free radicals into less toxic compounds with their subsequent physiological neutralization. Silymarin activates protein synthesis and accelerates the regeneration of hepatocytes, which is manifested in an improvement in the general condition of patients with liver diseases (the disappearance of itching and a feeling of heaviness in the right hypochondrium) and the normalization of blood biochemical parameters. Long-term use of silymarin increases the life expectancy of patients with liver cirrhosis.

Alpha lipoic acid (synonyms: thioctic acid, vitamin N, lipamide), as a coenzyme, participates in the oxidative decarboxylation of alpha-keto acids (pyruvic and ketoglutaric), which occurs in mitochondria, and, therefore, plays a significant role in the formation of energy in the body. In hepatocytes, these reactions are accompanied by a decrease in the severity of fatty degeneration and promote the activation of the metabolic function of the liver. Alpha lipoic acid has a pronounced antioxidant effect due to the presence of two thiol (sulfhydryl) groups in its molecule, as well as the ability to bind free radical molecules involved in lipid peroxidation. Alpha lipoic acid inhibits the synthesis of nitrogen monoxide (NO) by hepatocytes, which is manifested in the improvement of peripheral blood circulation. Studies have shown that the use of lipoic acid improves intrahepatic blood flow by 10-20%. Alpha lipoic acid has a detoxifying effect in case of poisoning with salts of heavy metals, as well as in other poisoning and intoxication.

Recommendations for use

The enriched phospholipids, silymarin and alpha-lipoic acid included in the preparation are used:

• for the prevention of toxic effects on the liver associated with prolonged use of preparations (antibiotic therapy, chemotherapy, etc.), alcohol intake, smoking and the influence of unfavorable environmental factors;
• as an accompanying agent for the normalization of digestion processes, metabolism and the activity of the hepatobiliary zone in allergic and skin diseases;
• as an aid to normalize the processes of digestion, metabolism and the activity of the hepatobiliary zone when taking medications, the action of which is aimed at reducing excess body weight;
• in the complex therapy of chronic hepatitis of various etiology, liver cirrhosis.

Compound

1 capsule contains:

Milk thistle seed extract (silymarin) - 140 mg.

Enriched Phospholipids (Lecithin) 100 mg

Alpha Lipoic Acid 50 mg

Excipients (lactose, starch, calcium or magnesium stearate) - 110 mg.

Mode of application

Recommended dosage for age restrictions:

adults and children over 12 years old - 1-2 capsules three times a day with meals, drink water;

children from 8 to 12 years old - 1 capsule three times a day with meals, wash down with water.

The course of admission is 30-40 days.

Break for 2 weeks.

If necessary, the course can be repeated.

If prescribed by a doctor, long-term use is possible for 4-6 months.

As a prophylactic agent - 1 capsule 2 times a day with meals for 30-40 days, a break - 2 weeks (if necessary, the course can be repeated).

The preparation does not affect the ability to drive vehicles and mechanisms.

Alpha-lipoic acid, which is part of the preparation, can enhance the hypoglycemic (hypoglycemic) effect of insulin or oral antidiabetic agents, therefore, in the first days of taking the preparation, more frequent monitoring of blood sugar should be carried out.

Alpha-lipoic acid forms complex compounds with ionic metal complexes, therefore it is not recommended to use Hepatomax® Forte with preparations of iron, magnesium, platinum and others, because of a possible decrease in their effectiveness.

When using the preparation in unjustifiably high doses, dyspeptic phenomena are possible: nausea, vomiting, diarrhea (symptomatic treatment is indicated, gastric lavage, intake of enterosorbents).

It is not a drug.

The dietary supplement should not be used as a substitute for a complete diet.

Do not exceed the stated recommended amount for daily intake.
