Product description

Herbion ivy, lozenges  is a herbal preparation that is used as an expectorant for productive cough in adults and children over 6 years old.

Structure

Active ingredient: dry extract of ivy leaves.
1 lozenge contains 35 mg of dry ivy leaf extract (5-7.5: 1 (Hedera helix L., Folium extractum siccum).
Extractant: ethanol 30% (m / m).
Excipients: isomalt (type M) (E 953), citric acid, natural caramel flavor (contains propylene glycol), natural citrus flavor (contains butylhydroxyanisole), sucralose, peppermint oil.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to the active substance or to other plants of the Araliaceae family, or to any other component of the preparation, up to 6 years of age.

Mode of application

Adults and children over 12 years old: 1 lozenge 3 times a day (which corresponds to 105 mg of dry ivy leaf extract per day).
Children aged 6 to 11 years: 1 lozenge 2 times a day (which corresponds to 70 mg of dry ivy leaf extract per day).

Application features

If you are worried about shortness of breath, fever, purulent sputum, you should consult your doctor.
Simultaneous use with antitussive preparations such as codeine and dextromethorphan is not recommended without consulting a doctor. It should be used with caution in patients with gastritis or gastric ulcer.
Lozenges are contraindicated in children under 6 years of age, since it is impossible to properly select the dose of the preparation in this dosage form. For children from 2 to 5 years old, there is a syrup. Products containing dry extract of ivy leaves are contraindicated in children under 2 years of age due to the risk of worsening respiratory symptoms, which is typical for all secretolytic agents.
Herbion ivy lozenges do not contain sugar.
Herbion ivy lozenges contain isomalt (E 953). If you have a history of intolerance to some sugars, consult your doctor before taking this medication.
This medicinal product contains a small amount of ethanol (alcohol), less than 100 mg / dose.
Pregnant
It is not recommended to use the preparation during pregnancy and lactation due to the lack of sufficient data.
Children
The preparation is contraindicated in children under 6 years of age.
Drivers
No studies have been conducted on the effect on the ability to drive a car or other mechanical means.

Overdose

Exceeding the recommended daily dose by more than double can provoke nausea, vomiting, diarrhea and agitation. Treatment is symptomatic.
Overdose has been reported in a 4-year-old child after accidentally ingesting large amounts of ivy extract (approximately 7-10 lozenges, corresponding to 1.8 g of ivy leaves), accompanied by aggression and diarrhea.

Adverse Reactions

From the immune system: allergic reactions (urticaria, skin rash, shortness of breath, anaphylactic reactions).
From the gastrointestinal tract: nausea, vomiting, diarrhea.

Interaction

There have been no reports of the effects of dry ivy leaf extract on other medicinal products. No interaction studies have been conducted.

Storage conditions

Store at a temperature not exceeding 25 ° C in its original packaging to protect against moisture. Keep out of the reach of children.
Shelf life is 2 years.
