Vaginal suppositories Geksikon for the prevention of sexually transmitted diseases (syphilis, gonorrhea, trichomoniasis, chlamydia, ureaplasmosis). Prevention of infectious and inflammatory complications in obstetrics and gynecology (before surgical treatment of gynecological diseases, before childbirth and abortion, before and after the installation of an intrauterine device, before and after diathermocoagulation of the cervix, before intrauterine examinations). Treatment of bacterial vaginosis, colpitis, cervical erosion.

Warehouse

Active ingredient: chlorhexidine.

1 pessary contains chlorhexidine digluconate 20% solution in terms of chlorhexidine digluconate 16 mg.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to the components of the preparation.

Mode of application

The preparation is used vaginally. Before use, the pessary should be freed from the contoured cellular packaging. For treatment, 1 pessary is used 2 times a day. The course of treatment is 7-10 days, depending on the nature of the disease. If necessary, it is possible to extend the course of treatment up to 20 days. For the prevention of sexually transmitted diseases, 1 pessary is used no later than 2:00 after intercourse.

Application features

The contact with hypochlorite bleaching agents on fabrics that have previously been in contact with a preparation that contains chlorhexidine may contribute to the appearance of brown spots on the fabric.

Side effects

Allergic reactions, itching are possible, which pass after the preparation is discontinued. Burning and irritation may occur at the injection site of the pessary.

Interaction

The preparation must not be used together with detergents containing an anionic group (saponins, sodium lauryl sulfate, sodium carboxymethylcellulose), as well as with soap. Soap can inactivate chlorhexidine, so before using the preparation, soap residues must be thoroughly washed off. The toilet of the external genital organs does not affect the effectiveness and tolerability of the pessaries, since the preparation is used intravaginally.

Simultaneous use with iodine is not recommended.

Storage conditions

Store in original packaging to protect from light at temperatures from 2 to 8 ° C. Keep out of the reach of children.
