Indications

Prevention and treatment of hepatic encephalopathy and constipation.

Composition

15 ml of syrup contains: 9.75 g of lactulose and auxiliary substances.

Action

Laxatives reduce blood ammonia levels by about 25 to 50%.

Dosage

The dosage should be selected individually according to the needs of the patient, the severity and course of the disease. Lactulose should be taken orally. The measuring cup is provided for dosing the syrup. Unless your doctor recommends otherwise, the following application schedule should be followed:

constipation: adults: 10 to 15 ml of syrup (6.5 to 9.75 g of lactulose) 1 or 2 times a day. Children: initially 10 to 25 ml of syrup (6.5 to 16.25 g of lactulose) daily, for 2-3 days. Then 5 to 15 ml (3.25 to 9.75 g of lactulose) per day.

Hepatic encephalopathy: doses should be increased gradually. Adults: initially 10 to 15 ml of syrup (6.5 g to 9.75 g of lactulose) 3 times a day, then increase 30 to 45 ml (19.5 to 29.25 g of lactulose) 3 or 4 times a day. The dosage should be adjusted so that the patient passes loose stools 2-3 times daily.

The preparation can be taken mixed with water or other fluids. The preparation can be taken regardless of meals.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to the preparation ingredients, intestinal obstruction, inflammation of the gastrointestinal tract, disturbances in the water and electrolyte balance, hereditary fructose intolerance, disorders in the secretion of lactase, galactosemia, impaired intestinal absorption of glucose and galactose.
