Magne B6 Forte is a medicinal product in the form of coated tablets, which replenishes magnesium and (or) vitamin B6 deficiencies in the body. It is intended for children from 6 years of age and adults. It contains a well-absorbed magnesium salt - citrate.

Composition

The active substances of the preparation are: magnesium citrate (Magnesii citras) and pyridoxine hydrochloride (Pyridoxini hydrochloridum).

1 coated tablet contains 100 mg of magnesium ions in the form of magnesium citrate (Magnesii citras) and 10 mg of pyridoxine hydrochloride (Pyridoxini hydrochloridum).

Excipients: anhydrous lactose, macrogol 6000, magnesium stearate, hypromellose, titanium dioxide (E 171), talc.

Dosage

Always use this medicine exactly as described in the package leaflet or as directed by your doctor or pharmacist. If you have any questions, ask your doctor or pharmacist.

Children and adolescents aged 6 years or over (weighing about 20 kg): 10 to 30 mg/kg b.w. per day (i.e. 0.4 to 1.2 mmol/kg b.w. per day), i.e. 2 to 4 tablets per day, in 2 or 3 divided doses, during meals.

Adults: 3 to 4 tablets per day, in 2 or 3 divided doses during meals.

The tablets should be swallowed with plenty of water.

Action

Magne B6 Forte contains magnesium ions and pyridoxine hydrochloride (vitamin B6). The medicine supplements magnesium and/or vitamin B6 deficiencies in the body.

Indications

The product is indicated for use in magnesium deficiency, which may manifest as nervousness, irritability, mood swings, mild anxiety, restlessness, transient fatigue, drowsiness, mild sleep disorders; anxiety symptoms such as gastrointestinal cramps or palpitations (without heart disorders); muscle cramps, tingling, eyelid twitching.

Contraindications

The preparation should not be used in case of hypersensitivity to any of the product's ingredients and in patients with severe renal failure and taking levodopa.

Side effects

Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everyone will experience them.

The following have been observed with unknown frequency: hypersensitivity reactions, diarrhea, abdominal pain, skin reactions, urticaria, itching, eczema and erythema.

Warnings and precautions

Special caution should be exercised in patients with moderate renal failure due to the risk of high magnesium levels in the blood.

As a result of taking high doses of pyridoxine for a long time, sensory axonal neuropathy (tingling sensation) may occur.

The medicine contains lactose. The medicine should be stored out of the sight and reach of children, at a temperature below 25ºC.

Using other medicines

Tell your doctor or pharmacist about all medicines you are currently taking or have recently taken, as well as medicines you plan to take, including those that are available without a prescription.

The medicine should not be used in patients treated with levodopa in monotherapy.

Avoid simultaneous use of products containing phosphates or calcium salts, because these compounds inhibit the absorption of magnesium from the small intestine. In the case of simultaneous oral use of a tetracycline antibiotic and Magne B6 Forte, a 3-hour break should be maintained between their administration. Quinolone antibiotics (such as ciprofloxacin, levofloxacin) must be taken at least 2 hours before or 6 hours after Magne B6 Forte is given.

Taking the medicine with food and drink

The medicine should be taken with meals and water.

Pregnancy and breast-feeding

If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, consult your doctor or pharmacist before taking this medicine.

The medicine can be used during pregnancy and breast-feeding only after consulting your doctor.

Use of the medicine in children and adolescents

The medicine is indicated for children from 6 years of age and weighing about 20 kg.
