Max Zeller Söhne AG specialises in the development, production and marketing of clinically proven herbal medicines.

We are a medium-sized Swiss family business and employ around 150 people at our two locations in Romanshorn and Uttwil.

We are the leading producer of phytopharmaceuticals for the Swiss market and one of the few companies that monitor the entire value creation process from the seed to the finished product. Our herbal medicines are available in all pharmacies and chemists, as well as from some Swiss doctors.

Our employees are our greatest asset. We employ specialists from a wide variety of scientific disciplines such as biology, food technology, agronomy, pharmacology, medicine and chemistry. Currently there are 149 people working for us, seven of whom are trainees. We are proud of the diversity of our staff and the fact that over fifty per cent of our staff and managers are women.

The company’s foundations were laid in 1864, when the pharmacist Max Zeller developed his "miracle balm" for digestive problems. Zeller has been family-owned for five generations and has always been based in Romanshorn.
