Product description 

Tesalin is a respiratory agent for the treatment of symptoms associated with allergic rhinitis (hay fever).

Compound

active substance: native extract from the leaves of butterbur hybrid (P. hybridus);

1 tablet contains 17.8-40 mg of native extract from the leaves of hybrid butterbur (P. hybridus) (extractant - carbon dioxide), which corresponds to 8 mg of petasiniv;

excipients: silicon dioxide colloidal cellulose microcrystalline magnesium starch sodium stearate (type A); stearic acid hypromellose; titanium dioxide (E 171) macrogol 20000.

Contraindications

• hypersensitivity to the active substance or excipients, as well as to any plants of the Asteraceae / Compositae family;
• dysfunction of the liver and kidneys;
• contraindicated in patients receiving anticoagulant therapy or barbiturates;
• During pregnancy and breastfeeding.

Mode of application

For oral use.

The usual daily dose for adults is 2 film-coated tablets: 1 tablet in the morning and 1 tablet in the evening. In case of external exposure to a large amount of pollen, the dose can be increased if necessary: ​​1 tablet 3 times a day. The tablet must be swallowed without chewing with water. Tablets are taken regardless of the time of day and food intake.

Application duration

The duration of treatment depends on the progression of the disease or the duration of the allergen and is determined by the doctor, but should not be more than 14 days. If symptoms persist during this period, stop using the preparation and consult a doctor.

Use during pregnancy or lactation

Clinical data on the use of the preparation during pregnancy and lactation are not available.

Preclinical animal studies have not shown any direct or indirect effect on the course of pregnancy or fetal development at a dose of 30 times the usual dose.

The potential risk to humans is unknown. Use during pregnancy and lactation is contraindicated.

Children

The preparation is used for children (under the age of 18 years).

Adverse reactions

On the part of the skin and subcutaneous tissue infrequently - skin hypersensitivity reactions were observed, including erythema, edema, itching, eczema, urticaria, rash.

On the part of the liver and biliary tract - very rarely, in connection with the use of preparations containing an extract from the roots of the hybrid butterbur (P. hybridus), severe liver damage was observed (liver necrosis, damage to liver cells, hepatitis, liver failure, early signs of which may fatigue, dark urine, discolored stools, upper abdominal pain, loss of appetite, jaundice, yellow coloration of the sclera). It is impossible to exclude the possibility of liver damage as a result of the action of the extract from the leaves of the hybrid butterbur (P. hybridus) contained in the preparation Tesalin.

From the side of the central nervous system - very rarely fatigue, dizziness, headache, lethargy.
