Our values

We want to shape a better and healthier world. This is how we started our business over 150 years ago, when Henri Nestlé created infant milk that saved a child's life.

Pioneering years

The story of Nestlé begins in 1866 when the Anglo-Swiss Condensed Milk Company opened Europe's first condensed milk factory in Switzerland. Henri Nestlé in 1867 makes a breakthrough in the field of baby food, and in 1905 the company he founded merges with Anglo-Swiss to form a new entity, now known as the Nestlé Group. During this period, cities thrive and advances in railroads and steamboats are lowering the cost of transporting raw materials, stimulating international trade in goods.
