NO-SPA MAX is an antispasmodic drug that reduces pain (painful spasms) in the abdominal organs and pelvis minor, i.e. in the digestive tract (stomach and intestines), bile and urinary tracts, and in women also the reproductive tract.

NO-SPA MAX (drotaverine) is effective in the treatment of smooth muscle spasms, both of neurogenic and muscular origin. It has a spasmolytic (spasmodic) effect on smooth muscles in the abdominal cavity, as a result of inhibiting phosphodiesterase 4 (PDE4). It is quickly and completely absorbed, hits the source of pain - spasm - eliminating abdominal pain, without serious adverse effects on the circulatory system, does not interact with other drugs (exception: levodopa), small, easy to swallow tablet.

NO-SPA MAX is indicated in the following ailments: smooth muscle spasms associated with biliary tract diseases: cholelithiasis, cholecystitis, pericholecystitis, cholangitis, inflammation of the ampulla of Vater, smooth muscle spasms of the urinary tract: nephrolithiasis, ureteral stones, pyelitis, cystitis, painful urgency to urinate. As a supportive treatment, it can be used safely and with the desired effect: in smooth muscle spasms of the digestive tract, such as: gastric and duodenal ulcers, gastritis, enteritis, colitis, spasms of the gastric cardia and pylorus, irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), spastic constipation and intestinal bloating, pancreatitis, in gynecological diseases (e.g. when painful menstruation occurs).

The active substance is drotaverine. Each coated tablet contains 80 mg of drotaverine hydrochloride.

The other ingredients are: tablet core: lactose monohydrate, corn starch, povidone, magnesium stearate, talc.

Tablet coating: Opadry II yellow 85G32207: polyvinyl alcohol, talc, quinoline yellow lake (E 104), macrogol, titanium dioxide (E 171), lecithin (soy), iron oxide yellow (E 172), iron oxide red (E 172)

Adults -1 coated tablet 2 or 3 times a day; the daily dose is 120 to 240 mg.

Use in children: if it is necessary to use the No-Spa Max medicinal product in children over 12 years of age - 1 coated tablet 1 or 2 times a day; the maximum daily dose for children is 160 mg. Without consulting a doctor, the drug can be used for a maximum of 7 days.

NO-SPA MAX should not be used: if the patient is allergic to drotaverine or any of the other ingredients of this drug, if the patient has severe liver, kidney and heart failure, if the patient has atrioventricular block II-III degree, in children under 12 years of age.

Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everyone will experience them. Rare (occurring in 1 to 10 in 10,000 patients): allergic reactions (angioedema, urticaria, rash, itching), headache and dizziness of peripheral (vestibular) origin, insomnia, palpitations, decreased blood pressure, nausea, constipation. Unknown frequency (cannot be determined based on available data): dizziness of central origin.

If you are pregnant, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, you should consult your doctor before using this medicine. Drotaverine crosses the placenta.

Do not use the medicine during labor.

It is not recommended to use this medicine during breastfeeding.

Caution should be exercised when administered concomitantly with levodopa (a medicine used in Parkinson's disease) due to the reduction of its antiparkinsonian effect and the intensification of tremors and stiffness.

Keep the medicine out of the sight and reach of children. Store at a temperature below 25°C. Protect from light.
