Active ingredients

Borage seed oil contains γ-linolenic, linoleic and oleic acids. Flax seed oil is rich in α-linolenic acid. Fish oil is a source of eicosapentaenoic and docosahexaenoic acids. Vitamin E, as a natural antioxidant, prevents the oxidation of PUFAs, thereby preserving their beneficial properties.

OMEGA-3-6-9 are essential components of the cell membranes of all tissues and organs, primarily the brain and retina, and are also necessary for the synthesis of tissue hormones - eicosanoids (prostacyclins, prostaglandins, leukotrienes and thromboxanes), which are involved in the regulation functions of the whole organism.

Human health depends on an adequate ratio of PUFA. Omega-3 and Omega-6 compete with each other for enzymes involved in the synthesis of eicosanoids, and the physiological effects of the latter depend on the type of PUFA from which they were synthesized. The eicosanoids synthesized from omega-6 are the second series prostanoids, as well as the fourth series leukotrienes. They induce a cascade of inflammatory reactions, activate platelet aggregation, exhibit a vasoconstrictor effect and provide protective reactions of the body - inflammation and stopping bleeding. The eicosanoids synthesized from omega-3 are series 3 prostanoids and series 5 leukotrienes. In contrast to the metabolites synthesized from Omega-6, they are characterized by anti-inflammatory and antithrombotic effects, exhibit a vasodelating effect and lower blood pressure.
