Product description

Omnik Okas tablets are used to treat symptoms of the lower urinary tract in benign prostatic hyperplasia.

Composition

The active ingredient is tamsulosin hydrochloride (one tablet contains 0.4 mg of tamsulosin hydrochloride).

Excipients: macrogol 8000, macrogol 7,000,000, magnesium stearate, purified water, opadry yellow 03F22733.

Contraindications

• hypersensitivity to tamsulosin hydrochloride, including preparation-induced angioedema, or to any of the excipients;
• a history of orthostatic hypotension;
• severe liver failure.

Mode of application

The recommended dose is one tablet daily, with or without food. The tablet should be swallowed whole, without breaking or chewing it, as this will interfere with the prolonged and controlled release of the active ingredient. The duration of treatment is set individually.

Dose adjustment is required in patients with renal impairment. Patients with moderate to moderate hepatic impairment do not require dose adjustment.

Application features

Children

Do not administer the preparation to children. The safety and efficacy of tamsulosin in children has not been evaluated.

Drivers

The study of the effect of the preparation on the ability to drive vehicles or other mechanisms has not been conducted. However, patients should be warned of the possibility of dizziness occurring.

Overdose

Symptoms

An overdose of tamsulosin hydrochloride can potentially cause severe hypotensive effects. Severe hypotensive effects have been reported with varying degrees of overdose.

Treatment

In the case of a sharp decrease in pressure due to an overdose, supportive therapy should be carried out aimed at restoring the normal function of the cardiovascular system (for example, the patient should take a horizontal position). If this measure does not work, carry out infusion therapy and prescribe vasopressor agents. It is necessary to monitor renal function and provide general supportive therapy. Due to the high degree of binding of tamsulosin to blood plasma proteins, hemodialysis is hardly advisable. In order to stop further absorption of the preparation, vomiting can be artificially induced. In case of an overdose of a significant amount of the preparation, the patient needs to wash the stomach using activated carbon and low-osmotic laxatives such as sodium sulfate.

Side effects

Neurological disorders: often (> 1/100, <1/10) - dizziness (1.3%).

Reproductive disorders: often (> 1/100, <1/10) - ejaculation disorders, including retrograde ejaculation and ejaculation failure.

Storage conditions

Store at a temperature not exceeding 25 ° C, out of the reach of children.

Shelf life is 3 years.
