Indications

Excessive nasal congestion in the course of colds, hay fever, allergic rhinitis, sinusitis.

Composition

1 ml of solution contains xylometazoline hydrochloride and: sodium dihydrogen phosphate dihydrate, disodium phosphate dodecahydrate, sodium chloride, disodium edetate, levomenthol, cineol (eucalyptol), sorbitol, macrogolglycerol hydroxystearate, purified water.

Action

Otrivin menthol is a topical nasal decongestant. It unblocks a stuffy nose for easier breathing. The preparation contains auxiliary substances such as menthol and eucalyptol, which give a feeling of coolness on the mucous membranes. The effect of Otrivin Menthol begins within a few minutes and lasts up to twelve hours.

Dosage

Adults and adolescents over 12 years of age: 1 dose of Otrivin Menthol spray in each nostril 3 times a day. Do not use more than 3 times a day in each nostril. Long-term use of the preparation may worsen the symptoms of nasal blockage. Do not use for more than 5-7 days.

Contraindications

If you are allergic to xylometazoline hydrochloride or any of the other ingredients of this medicine, if you have had surgery through the nose, such as removal of the pituitary gland or surgery to expose the dura mater (nose or mouth brain surgery), narrow-angle glaucoma ( increased pressure in the eye), consult your doctor or pharmacist before using the preparation if you have: high blood pressure, heart disease, hyperthyroidism, diabetes, prostatic hyperplasia, a benign tumor of the adrenal gland that produces large amounts of adrenaline and noradrenaline (phaeochromocytoma ), taking certain antidepressants known as monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs) or taking them in the last 2 weeks, as with other nasal decongestants, can cause insomnia, dizziness, tremors, abnormal heart rhythms and increased blood pressure. no use in children under 12 years of age, do not use the preparation during pregnancy.
