Solution for injection "Piracetam-Darnitsa" is used for adults with the following indications:

The active ingredient is piracetam (1 ml of solution contains 200 mg of piracetam).

Excipients: sodium acetate trihydrate, glacial acetic acid, water for injection.

The preparation in the form of an injection solution is used in acute cases or when it is impossible to use oral forms of piracetam.

The preparation should be administered intravenously (administered slowly over several minutes) or as an infusion (applied continuously within 24 hours).

The preparation should be used for adults.

Treatment of conditions accompanied by memory impairment, cognitive impairment

The initial daily dose is 4.8 g during the first week of treatment. Usually, the dose should be distributed over 2-3 administrations. The maintenance dose is 2.4 g per day. In the future, a gradual dose reduction by 1.2 g per day is possible.

Treatment of cortical myoclonus

The initial daily dose is 24 g for 3 days. If during this time the desired therapeutic effect is not achieved, continue using the preparation  at the same dosage (24 g per day) for up to 7 days. If the desired therapeutic effect is not obtained on the 7th day of treatment, the treatment should be discontinued. If the therapeutic effect has been achieved, then starting from the day when a stable improvement is achieved, begin to reduce the dose of the preparation by 1.2 g of piracetam every two days until manifestations of cortical myoclonus appear again. This will make it possible to establish an average effective dose.

Treatment with other anti-myoclonic preparations is maintained at the previously prescribed doses. Continue treatment until the symptoms of the disease disappear. To prevent the deterioration of the patient's condition, the use of the preparation should not be abruptly stopped. It is necessary to gradually reduce the dose by 1.2 g of piracetam every 2-3 days. Every 6 months, prescribe repeated courses of preparation treatment, while adjusting the dose depending on the patient's condition, to the disappearance or decrease of the manifestations of the disease.

Do not use this medicine during pregnancy. The preparation  passes into breast milk, therefore, if it is necessary to use the preparation, breastfeeding should be discontinued.

The preparationis not used in children.

Caution should be exercised when driving vehicles or working with other mechanisms due to the possibility of adverse reactions from the central nervous system.

Symptoms: increased manifestations of adverse preparation reactions. Overdose symptoms were observed with oral administration of the preparation at a dose of 75 g.

Treatment: symptomatic. There is no specific antidote, hemodialysis can be used (excretion of 50-60% of piracetam).

Adverse reactions are more often observed in elderly patients at doses of more than 2-4 g per day.

Frequency is defined as follows: very often (≥ 1/10), often (≥ 1/100 to <1/10), infrequently (≥ 1/1000 to <1/100), rarely (≥ 1/10000 to <1 / 1000), very rare (<1/10000), isolated cases (it is impossible to estimate the frequency based on the available data).

Nervous system disorders: often - hyperkinesia.

Metabolic and nutritional disorders: often - weight gain.

Mental disorders: often - nervousness; infrequently - depression.

Research has not been carried out. The preparation should not be mixed with other preparations. Incompatible with solutions of acids and alkalis, which lead to the destruction of the main active ingredient.

Store in its original packaging at a temperature not exceeding 25 ° C, out of the reach of children. Do not freeze.

Shelf life is 3 years.
