SKOTAN S.A. A listed company with a long tradition, in January 2006 it changed its business profile and started trading and production in the fuel sector. The medium-term strategic goal of the company was to achieve and maintain the leading position in the production and sale of biofuels in Poland. During 2006 and 2007, the company also traded conventional fuels, such as diesel and petrol.

As part of the implementation of the above goals, SKOTAN S.A. began an investment in the construction of an installation for the production of biocomponents, which are fatty acid methyl esters (FAME). Despite the full commitment to the implementation of the project and the goals set in 2006 due to the unfavorable for biofuel producers changes in the excise tax regulations in 2007 and the prolonged period of no legal environment for the development and conducting profitable activity in the field of production and distribution of biofuels, in July In 2009, the General Meeting of the company decided to change the company's strategy and abandon the company's goals in the field of 1st generation biofuels.
