Product description

SOFTEYE Net is indicated for the treatment of wounds and abrasions to the surface of the eyeball resulting from ocular trauma or surgery. The use of SOFTEYE Net is recommended for people who, in the opinion of the doctor, are at risk of developing a bacterial infection. SOFTEYE Net contains two natural polymers: sodium hyaluronate and xanthan gum. After the application of the product into the conjunctival sac, it connects with the tear film and forms a transparent, sticky coating which, thanks to the reduction of friction caused by eye movements and blinking, protects the eye surface and accelerates the healing process of wounds and abrasions. SOFTEYE Net also contains netilmicin, a broad-spectrum aminoglycoside antibiotic designed to reduce the risk of bacterial infection.

Application

Treatment of wounds and abrasions on the surface of the eyeball.

Usage method

Apply 1 drop of SOFTEYE Net into the conjunctival sac 4 times a day, unless otherwise prescribed by a physician.

Hands should be washed / disinfected before use.

Make sure the single-dose container is intact.

Tear off the single-dose container from the strip.

Hold the single-dose container at the bottom and shake it downwards.

Open by twisting and tearing off the upper part.

Apply SOFTEYE Net avoiding touching the eye or any other surface with the tip of the container.

Ingredients

Sodium hyaluronate, xanthan gum, netilmycin 0.3%, disodium phosphate dodecahydrate, sodium phosphate monobasic monohydrate, sodium citrate, purified water.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to aminoglycosides or other ingredients of the product.

Important tips

As SOFTEYE Net does not contain preservatives, the contents of each single-dose container should be used immediately after opening. Do not re-use product residues as it may become contaminated.

Single-dose containers should be used within 12 weeks of opening the aluminum pouch.

Do not use SOFTEYE Net if it is not clear.

The product should be used according to the doctor's instructions.

Store below 30 ℃.

Warnings

A mild temporary burning sensation may occur.

Long-term use of topical antibiotics may lead to the development of resistant microorganisms. If there is no clinically significant improvement in a relatively short time (5-7 days), or if any irritation or hypersensitivity symptoms occur, treatment should be discontinued and an ophthalmologist consulted.

In newborns, the product may only be used when clearly needed and under close medical supervision.

No significant pharmacological interactions have been reported with the administration of netilmicin eye drops. However, due to the physical properties of the eye gel, other ophthalmic products should only be used 60 minutes after application of SOFTEYE Net.

Concomitant use of other antibiotics with potential nephrotoxic and ototoxic effects, even locally, and especially intravenously, may increase the risk of such an effect.

There is an increased risk of nephrotoxicity with some aminoglycosides when taking consecutive or concomitantly other nephrotoxic preparation such as cisplatin, polymyxin B, colistin, viomycin, streptomycin, vancomycin, other aminoglycosides and some cephalosporins (cephaloridin) or strong diuretics such as diuretics ethacrynic acid or furosemide, due to their effect on the kidneys.

The combination of aminoglycosides and beta-lactam antibiotics (penicillins or cephalosporins) in vitro can lead to significant mutual inactivation. In patients with renal insufficiency and in some patients with normal renal function, shortened or decreased blood levels of the aminoglycoside half-life have been observed, even when the aminoglycoside and penicillin antibiotic have been administered by different routes.

Concomitant use of therapeutic contact lenses after photorefractive keratectomy (PRK) does not constitute a contraindication to the use of the product.

It is recommended that other types of contact lenses be worn only 60 minutes after application of SOFTEYE Net.

Preclinical studies show no foetotoxicity after topical administration of netilmicin due to its poor systemic absorption. However, during pregnancy, the product should only be used when clearly needed and under close medical supervision.

As aminoglycosides pass into breast milk, they should not be used during breastfeeding.
