Product description

Tingrex is a remedy for dementia. Indications for use - Alzheimer's disease.

Structure

1 tablet contains memantine hydrochloride 10 mg;

excipients: lactose monohydrate, microcrystalline cellulose talc silicon dioxide colloidal magnesium stearate;

shell: white opadry 33G28707 (hypromellose (E 464), titanium dioxide (E 171), lactose monohydrate, macrogol 3000, triacetin), carnauba wax.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to the active substance or to any component of the preparation.

Mode of application

Adults.

The maximum daily dose is 20 mg. In order to reduce the risk of adverse reactions, the maintenance dose should be determined by gradually increasing the dose by 5 mg per week during the first 3 weeks as follows:

1st week (1-7 days):

Take ½ tablet (5 mg per day) for a week;

2nd week (8-14 days):

Take 1 tablet (10 mg per day) for a week;

3rd week (15-21 days):

Take 1½ tablets (15 mg per day) for a week;

From the 4th week:

Take 2 tablets (20 mg daily) every day.

The recommended maintenance dose is 20 mg per day.

Application features

Care should be taken when prescribing the preparation to patients with epilepsy, patients with a history of seizure episodes, as well as patients with risk factors for the development of epilepsy.

Simultaneous use with N-methyl-D-aspartate (NMDA) antagonists such as amantadine, ketamine or dextromethorphan should be avoided. These compounds affect the same receptor system as memantine, so side effects (mainly related to the central nervous system) may be more frequent or more severe.

Several factors causing an increase in urine pH may necessitate close monitoring of the patient. These factors include profound dietary changes, such as replacing a meat-rich diet with a vegetarian or heavy intake of antacid gastric agents. In addition, urine pH may rise due to a condition of renal tubular acidosis (TNA) or severe urinary tract infections caused by Proteus bacteria.

In most clinical studies, patients with recent myocardial infarction and patients with decompensated congestive heart failure (NYHA grade III-IV), as well as uncontrolled arterial hypertension, were excluded from the number of participants.

Pregnant

Memantine should not be used during pregnancy, unless there is a clear and obvious need.

Children

The preparation should not be used in children due to insufficient data on safety and efficacy.

Drivers

Memantine has little to moderate effect on human performance, therefore outpatients should be warned to take extra care when driving or operating equipment.

Overdose

Symptoms

Relatively significant overdose (200 mg and 105 mg for 3 days, respectively) were either associated with symptoms of increased fatigue, weakness and / or diarrhea, or were asymptomatic. In case of an overdose of up to 140 mg or an unknown dose, symptoms of central nervous system disorders (confusion, lethargy, drowsiness, dizziness, agitation, aggression, hallucinations, gait disturbances) and / or gastrointestinal disturbances (vomiting and diarrhea) were observed.

After taking 2000 mg of memantine, the patient developed coma within 10 days, later - diplopia and agitation.

Side effects

On the part of the immune system, hypersensitivity.

Mental disorders - drowsiness, confusion, hallucinations, psychotic reactions.

From the side of the nervous system - dizziness, imbalance, gait disturbance, seizures.

From the side of the heart - heart failure.

On the vascular side - arterial hypertension, venous thrombosis / thromboembolism.
