Uniben contains the active substance - benzydamine hydrochloride from the group of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory preparations (NSAIDs), which has a local anti-inflammatory, analgesic, anesthetic and disinfecting effect. Due to the fact that the preparation is absorbed locally very well and reaches a high concentration in the tissues affected by the inflammatory process, the symptoms quickly disappear. The preparation is well tolerated and is suitable for the local treatment of inflammatory symptoms.

Indications

Treatment of local symptoms associated with acute inflammation of the mouth and throat.

Composition

1 ml of solution contains:

• Active substance: benzydamine hydrochloride 1.5 mg.
• Excipients: glycerol, sodium saccharin, sodium bicarbonate, ethanol 96%, methyl parahydroxybenzoate, polysorbate 20, mint flavor ("fresh peppermint" flavor 506041T), purified water.

Action

Treatment of local symptoms associated with acute inflammation of the mouth and throat.

Dosage

• Children under 6 years of age: 1 dose of the preparation per 4 kg of body weight, used 2 to 6 times a day. Regardless of body weight, a single dose should not exceed 4 doses.
• Children from 6 to 12 years of age: 4 doses of the preparation at a time, used 2 to 6 times a day.
• Children and adolescents over 12 years of age and adults: 4 to 8 doses of the preparation once, 2 to 6 times a day.

Contraindications

Allergy (hypersensitivity) to benzydamine hydrochloride or any of the other ingredients of this medicine.

Storage

Keep out of the sight and reach of children.

Store below 25 degrees Celsius.

Store in the original package.

Side effects

Very rare (less than 1 in 10,000 patients)

• A burning sensation in the oral mucosa.
• Dry mouth.

Allergic (hypersensitivity) reaction, a severe allergic reaction (anaphylactic shock) with symptoms such as:

• Breathing difficulties.
• Chest pain or tightness and / or feeling dizzy / faint.
• Severe itching of the skin or protruding lumps on the skin.
• Swelling of the face, lips, tongue and / or throat.
• These symptoms can be life threatening. These symptoms usually disappear spontaneously after preparation discontinuation.

Warnings and Precautions

• If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking this medicine.
• The active substance contained in the preparation has no influence on the ability to drive and use machines.
• The preparation contains methyl parahydroxybenzoate and may cause allergic reactions (possible delayed reactions).
• The preparation contains small amounts of ethanol (alcohol), less than 100 mg per dose.
