Activon Tube contains 25 g of pure Manuka honey with healing and antibacterial properties. Thanks to its properties, Manuka honey prevents unpleasant odor in the event of wound infection and ensures an appropriate level of moisture within the wound, which significantly affects the speed of its healing. The antibacterial activity of honey is mainly related to the action of hydrogen peroxide, formed under the influence of the enzyme contained in honey - glucose oxidase. Honey, as a substance with high osmolarity, drains excess water, which prevents maceration of the wound edges and excessive accumulation of active substances in the wound environment. Moreover, it stimulates the processes of its autolytic cleansing and inhibits bacterial growth.

Application

Any type of wound, especially for necrotic wounds and odorous wounds, including limb ulcers, pressure ulcers, surgical wounds, burns, local grafts.

Usage method

Apply directly to the wound or use in conjunction with Activon Tulle or Algivon to increase the concentration of honey. The wound can be covered with an additional dressing as desired, for example by using an absorbent compress or polyurethane film. By inverting the cap it is possible to block the tube while the dressing is being made.

Ingredients

Manuka honey * 25g.

* The activity of honey intended for medical purposes is defined in the so-called UMF (Unique Manuka Factor) units. Honey with the activity of 1 UMF (Manuka Unique Factor) has an antiseptic activity comparable to a 1% phenol solution.

Contraindications

The product contains glucose. Monitoring of sugar levels in diabetic patients is recommended. Do not use in patients allergic to bee venom. Pain may occur after the application of honey, and depending on the sensitivity of the wound, it may be necessary to use a painkiller. In the event of persistent pain, it is recommended to discontinue use and wash the wound with a saline solution.
