Indications

Cough of various origins.

Composition

1 ml of syrup contains the active ingredient: 1.5 mg of citrate butamirate. In addition, the preparation contains: sodium benzoate, liquid sorbitol, non-crystallizing, glycerol, sodium saccharin, liquid orange flavor, citric acid monohydrate, sodium citrate, purified water.

Action

Antitussive - reduces the frequency and intensity of cough, dilates the bronchi, facilitates breathing.

Dosage

- children from 3 to 6 years of age: 5 ml of syrup 3 times a day;

- children from 6 to 12 years of age: 10 ml of syrup 3 times a day;

- adolescents over 12 years of age: 15 ml of syrup 3 times a day;

- adults: 15 ml of syrup 4 times a day.

The preparation should be taken before a meal. The maximum duration of treatment without a doctor's recommendation is 1 week.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to the active substance or to any of the excipients. Do not use in children under 3 years of age. Atussan is not recommended for use in women during the first trimester of pregnancy. During the second and third trimesters of pregnancy, Atussan should only be used when clearly needed. The preparation contains sorbitol, therefore it should not be used in patients with rare hereditary fructose intolerance. It contains glycerol which may cause headache, stomach upset and diarrhea. It may cause dizziness or drowsiness, therefore caution should be exercised when driving or operating machinery.
