Diosmectite is a natural clay with a structure of thin overlapping crystalline plates, which have a high absorption capacity, which allows the absorption of fluids present in the intestinal lumen along with bacteria and viruses present in it, thickening the consistency of the stool and slowing down excretion. The diosmectite contained in the DICOSTOP preparation combines with the glycoproteins of the mucous layer covering the gastrointestinal wall, changing their physical characteristics, creating an absorbent gel that protects against excessive acid secretion and gastric irritants, and also acts as a barrier against inflammatory mechanisms.

Application

Oral treatment of acute and chronic diarrhea, pain associated with gastrointestinal dysfunction.

Usage method

Children 6-12 years old: 1 sachet 2-3 times a day. Children aged 1-6 years: 1 sachet 1-2 times a day.

Knead the contents of the sachet vigorously before opening it. The product can be taken directly or dissolved in a glass of water or in other drinks (juice, yoghurt). Once opened, the contents of the sachet should be ingested whole. For young children, the contents of the sachet can be administered in a feeding bottle, mixed with 50 ml of water or another drink, divided into 2-3 doses a day. It is also possible to add the preparation to semi-liquid foods. It is best to take the preparation between meals.

Ingredients

One DICOSTOP sachet contains: active ingredient: diosmectite (1.5 g). Excipients: purified water, EDTA, karaya gum, sodium methylparaben, sucrose fatty acid esters, aromas, citric acid, sodium benzoate, sucralose.

Contraindications

Children under 1 year of age, stomach and intestinal damage, chronic constipation, intestinal irritation and obstruction. Do not use in the case of hypersensitivity to any component of the preparation and when using other products or oral medications.

Important tips

Store at room temperature. Avoid exposure to light, heat, and excessive humidity.

Do not use for more than 10 days.

The medical device contains aluminum derived from diosmectite.
