Description Emla medicated plasters 3p x 2 pcs — Made in UK — Free Delivery

Indications:

Emla are anesthetic patches indicated for use before medical procedures, such as: vaccinations, blood sampling for tests, puncture and catheterization of veins; before painful aesthetic medicine procedures (e.g. closing capillaries, smoothing wrinkles) and before surgical procedures within the skin (e.g. laser procedures). Intended for both adults and children.

Properties:

Emla plaster is a light beige part stuck to the skin and a protective foil. There is a round, white disc in the center of the patch with an emulsion containing the active and excipients. The remainder of the patch is covered with an acrylic adhesive. The active substances in Emla are lidocaine and prilocaine. These are local anesthetics with an amide structure. After penetrating the epidermis and dermis, they have an anesthetic effect on the skin. Both the anesthetic substances, lidocaine and prilocaine, are solid at room temperature. However, when they are mixed in appropriate proportions at a temperature of 18 ° C, a liquid, oily mixture is formed. An emulsion is produced from it, the oily phase of which allows for a high concentration of preparation molecules, and the water phase - their penetration into the dermis. As a result, the so-called eutectic mixture of local anesthetics (Emla) is effective in local anesthesia of the skin. The degree of anesthesia depends on the time the patch is left on the skin and the dose used. If Emla plaster is left on the skin for 1 to 2 hours, after its removal the anesthesia will remain for 2 hours.

Composition:

One medicated plaster of approximately 10 cm2 contains:

lidocaine - 25 mg,

prilocaine - 25 mg.

Children from 13 months to 5 years of age: EMLA medicated plaster should be applied to the skin at the site to be anesthetized. EMLA medicated plaster should remain on the skin for at least one hour before surgery, but not longer than 5 hours. Do not apply more than 10 patches at the same time.

Children from 6 to 12 years of age: EMLA medicated plaster should be applied to the skin at the site to be anesthetized.
