Pharmacological properties

Pharmacodynamics. A combined preparation for topical use in otology with a pronounced analgesic and anti-inflammatory effect, due to the synergism of the action of its components. phenazone is a pyrazolone derivative with analgesic and anti-inflammatory properties. lidocaine is a local anesthetic of the amide group.

Pharmacokinetics. Systemic absorption of active ingredients is not expected (in the absence of damage to the tympanic membrane). The action of the preparation (reducing the soreness of the tympanic membrane and reducing inflammation) begins 5 minutes after instillation. Pain syndrome almost completely disappears in 15-30 minutes.

Indications

Local symptomatic treatment and pain relief for diseases of the middle ear with an intact tympanic membrane, such as:

• congestive otitis media in the acute period;
• edematous viral otitis media (post-influenza);
• barotraumatic otitis media.

The medicinal product is intended for use in adults and children over the age of 1 month.

Application

For adults and children over the age of 1 month, instill 4 drops into the external auditory canal 2-3 times a day. the course of treatment should not exceed 10 days. if improvement does not occur, treatment should be reviewed.

In order to prevent discomfort as a result of contact of the skin of the ear canal with a cold solution, you should warm the bottle in your hand before using the preparation. The bottle must be closed after each use.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to preparation components or amide local anesthetic preparations. an infectious or traumatic injury (perforation) of the tympanic membrane.

Side effects

Reported adverse reactions are listed according to organ system classes.

On the part of the organ of hearing and balance: local reactions: allergic reactions, including irritation, hyperemia of the external auditory canal, itching, skin rashes.

special instructions

Before prescribing the preparation, the integrity of the tympanic membrane should be checked. if the tympanic membrane is perforated, the administration of the preparation can lead to contact of the preparation with the structures of the middle ear, which will lead to adverse reactions in these tissues.

It should be borne in mind that the preparation  can affect the result of the anti-doping test.

Use during pregnancy and lactation. If necessary, Flotto can be used during pregnancy and lactation after consulting a doctor.

Children. There is no data on the safety and efficacy of the preparation in children under 1 month of age.

Applied in children aged 1 month and older as prescribed by a doctor.

The ability to influence the reaction rate when driving vehicles or other mechanisms. There is no data on the effect of the preparation on the ability to drive vehicles or other mechanisms.
