Kalms is a plant medicine in the form of round coated tablets, the active substances of which are extracts of hop cone root, valerian root and gentian yellow root. This medicine is used for mild symptoms of nervous tension and to help you fall asleep. The effectiveness of Kalms is based solely on its long-term use and experience.

Indications

Kalms is used in adults and adolescents over 12 years of age in cases of:

• feelings of mild nervous tension,
• sleep problems.

Composition

1 tablet contains:

active substances: Lupuli flos pulvis (powdered hop cones) 45.00 mg, Valerianae extractum hydroalcoholicum sicccum (4: 1) (valerian root extract) 33.75 mg extractant: ethanol 45-80% (V / V), Gentianae extractum siccum (4: 1) (yellow gentian root extract) 22.50 mg extractant: ethanol 50% (V / V),

excipients: maltodextrin, colloidal anhydrous silicon dioxide, corn starch, gum arabic, sucrose, stearic acid, sodium starch glycolate, magnesium stearate, colloidal silicon dioxide, shellac varnish (shellac, pharmaceutical alcohols), sucrose, calcium carbonate, talc, titanium dioxide , Mastercote white SP0950 G (titanium dioxide, sucrose, purified water, pharmaceutical alcohols), beeswax, carnauba wax.

The preparation can be taken by diabetics. 1 tablet contains 248 mg of sucrose (0.02 bread unit).

Action

The preparation reduces mild states of nervous tension and makes it easier to fall asleep.

Dosage

Adults and adolescents over 12 years of age: in mild symptoms of nervous tension: take a single dose of 3 tablets, up to 3 times a day. Up to 4 times a day.

As a sleep aid: take a single dose of 3 tablets half an hour before bedtime. Another dose may be taken in the evening if necessary.

If your symptoms persist after 4 weeks of taking Kalms, or you feel worse, see your doctor.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to the active substances or any of the other ingredients of this medicine.

The preparation is not intended for children and adolescents under 12 years of age.

The period of pregnancy and breastfeeding.

Storage

Keep the preparation out of the sight and reach of children.

Store below 25ºC.

Do not use this medicine after the expiry date which is stated on the package. The expiry date refers to the last day of that month.

Medicines should not be disposed of via wastewater or household waste. Ask the pharmacist how to throw away medicines no longer required. Such behavior will help to protect the environment.

Side effects

Like all medicines, Kalms can cause side effects, but not everybody gets them.

After taking the preparation, gastrointestinal disorders in the form of nausea, spasms in the abdominal cavity can be noted.

Interactions

Tell your doctor or pharmacist about all the preparations you are taking, have recently taken or plan to take while you are taking Kalms, including over-the-counter preparations.

The use of this preparation with synthetic sedatives is not recommended.

Warnings and Precautions

Do not exceed the recommended dose of the preparation, stated on the label.

More serious disorders or worsening of the patient's condition should be consulted with your doctor.

Patients should not drive a car or operate machinery if they feel drowsy.

If you have an intolerance to some sugars, consult your doctor before taking this medicine because it contains sucrose.

If you take a higher dose than recommended and notice any side effects, please contact your doctor.

If a dose is missed, it should not be supplemented with a double dose.
