Product description

Optinol 0.40% are viscous drops that prolong the effect of sodium hyaluronate on the surface of the eyes. Optinol 0.40% drops moisturize the surface of the eye for a longer time and increase protection.

Active ingredients

The main goal of eliminating dry eye is to increase stability and increase the volume of the precorneal tear film. Hyaluronic acid, which is part of Optinol in the form of sodium hyaluronate, has a chemical structure, molecular weight and rheological properties similar to mucin - a component of human tears. Due to its properties, hyaluronic acid moisturizes the eye without impairing vision. In addition, its ability to bind water helps keep the surface of the eye moist.

When applied topically, hyaluronic acid increases the stability of the precorneal tear film, has a positive effect on the epithelial layer, increases the volume of tear fluid and corneal moisture, and also reduces the evaporation of tears from the surface of the eye.

Sodium hyaluronate is not absorbed after topical use.

Indications for use

Optinol 0.40% eye drops are prescribed for:

Symptomatic treatment of dry cornea and conjunctiva (dry eye syndrome).
For the temporary relief of burning and irritation caused by dry eyes and as protection against further irritation.
To temporarily relieve discomfort caused by minor eye irritation:
the influence of wind, sun, smoke, centralized heating, air conditioners, fluorescent lighting, prolonged work with a computer monitor, wearing contact lenses;
after using medications that can cause dryness and irritation of the surface of the eye;
for diseases and conditions that can cause dryness and discomfort in the eye.

Method of use

Instill 1-2 drops in each eye 3 times a day. After instillation, you should blink several times so that the solution is evenly distributed over the entire surface of the eye. Each time you blink, sodium hyaluronate forms a protective membrane on the surface of the eye.

If necessary, the frequency of instillation can be increased, since Optinol does not contain preservatives. A significant increase in the frequency of use of Optinol (for example, more than 10 times a day) is allowed as directed by an ophthalmologist and under his supervision.

The duration of use is determined by the doctor individually.

Special instructions

Optinol is compatible with all types of contact lenses and can provide a comfortable feeling for wearing contact lenses. During the instillation of Optinol 0.40%, it is recommended to remove contact lenses for 15 minutes. When using Optinol 0.21%, it is not necessary to remove contact lenses from the eyes during instillation. The optinol eye drop dropper has a filter that protects the contents of the container from contamination after opening it for 180 days. Optinol is intended for individual use by one person only. Severe or persistent dry eyes should seek medical advice.

Storage conditions

Store at a temperature not exceeding 30 ° C.
