Pharmacological properties

Pharmacodynamics. Herbal preparation. it contains a dry extract of ivy leaves, which has an antitussive, expectorant, antispasmodic, anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial action due to the glycosides (saponins) present in it. reduces the viscosity of sputum, improves its discharge.

Pharmacokinetics. Has not been investigated.

Indications

Acute inflammatory diseases of the respiratory tract, accompanied by a cough; symptomatic treatment of chronic inflammatory diseases of the bronchi.

Application

Apply orally using the supplied dosing spoon.

Infants and children from 1 to 6 years old - 2.5 ml 2 times a day.

Children aged 6-12 years - 5 ml 2 times a day.

Adults and children over 12 years old - 5 ml 3 times a day.

The syrup should be applied in the morning, afternoon and evening. The duration of treatment is determined by the doctor individually.

In mild cases, the duration of therapy is 1 week. To achieve a stable therapeutic effect, it is recommended to continue therapy for another 2-3 days after the patient's condition improves.

Shake the bottle thoroughly before each use!

If there is no improvement, it is necessary to consult a doctor regarding further treatment.

Contraindications

Individual hypersensitivity to the active substance, plants of the Araliaceae family or to any other component of the preparation. intolerance to fructose.

Side effects

Very rarely (1/10 000) - laxative effect (due to the sorbitol content).

Very rarely (1/10 000) - allergic reactions: shortness of breath, swelling of the mucous membrane, skin rash, urticaria, itching.

In patients with hypersensitivity, gastrointestinal disturbances are possible, including nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, and abdominal pain.

Special instructions

Children under the age of 2 years should take pectolvan ivy, syrup only under the close supervision of a doctor in a hospital setting.

Prolonged or recurrent cough in children under 4 years of age requires diagnosis before treatment. If symptoms persist or shortness of breath, fever, and purulent or bloody sputum appear when coughing up, you should consult your doctor immediately. The concomitant use of antitussives such as codeine or dextromethorphan is not recommended without medical advice. It should be used with caution in patients with gastritis or gastric ulcer.

If you have an intolerance to some sugars, you should consult your doctor before taking the preparation.

Use during pregnancy and lactation. Due to the lack of research data, this preparation is not recommended for use during pregnancy and lactation.
