Vaginal suppositories "Synthomycin" are used for the following indications:

• bacterial gynecological infections (vaginitis, cervicitis) caused by microorganisms sensitive to Synthomycin;
• for the prevention of pyoinflammatory diseases in gynecology;
• before invasive procedures: abortion, gynecological operations (diathermocoagulation of the cervix, hysterography), before and after the installation of an intrauterine device.

Composition

The active ingredient is chloramphenicol (1 suppository contains Synthomycin250 mg).

The excipient is solid fat.

Contraindications

• hypersensitivity to the components of the drug;
• allergy and toxic reaction (dyspeptic symptoms, dysbiosis, mental disorders) to chloramphenicol in history;
• psoriasis;
• eczema;
• fungal diseases of the vagina;
• suppression of bone marrow hematopoiesis.

Mode of application

For use by adult women.

Having previously released the suppository from the contour shell, insert it as deep as possible into the vagina. The patient should lie on her back.

Apply one suppository 2-3 times a day.

The maximum daily dose is 4 suppositories. The course of treatment is 5-7 days.

Do not administer the medicine to children.

Drivers

Tests to study the effect of suppositories on the ability to drive vehicles and other mechanisms have not been conducted.

Overdose

Symptoms: Possible increased side effects of the drug.

Treatment is symptomatic.

Side effects

From the hematopoietic system: leukopenia, thrombocytopenia, reticulocytopenia, a decrease in the level of hemoglobin in the blood.

From the immune system: allergic reactions, including: angioedema, other signs of irritation that were not observed for treatment, skin rash, itching, burning, hyperemia, edema.

From the gastrointestinal tract: dyspeptic symptoms (nausea, vomiting, loose stools).

In these cases, the drug should be discontinued.

Storage conditions

Store in its original packaging at a temperature not exceeding 25 ° C, out of the reach of children.

Shelf life is 2 years.
