Product description

The preparation Teldipin is indicated as a substitution therapy for the treatment of patients with arterial hypertension who have already been treated with telmisartan and amlodipine, which were prescribed simultaneously in the same dose as in the combination.

Composition

Active ingredients: telmisartan, amlodipine;

1 tablet contains 40 mg telmisartan and 5 mg amlodipine (as amlodipine besylate) or 40 mg telmisartan and 10 mg amlodipine (as amlodipine besylate), or 80 mg telmisartan and 5 mg amlodipine (as amlodipine besylate), or 80 mg telmisartan and 10 mg amlodipine (as amlodipine besylate);

Excipients: meglumine, sodium hydroxide, povidone K30, lactose, sorbitol (E 420), yellow iron oxide (E 172), magnesium stearate, sodium stearyl fumarate, mannitol (E 421), colloidal silicon dioxide, stearic acid.

Contraindications

• Hypersensitivity to the active substance or to any of the components of the preparation.
• Pregnancy or planning a pregnancy.
• Biliary obstructive disorders.
• Severe liver dysfunction.
• Severe arterial hypotension.
• Shock (including cardiogenic).
• Obstruction of the left ventricular outflow tract (eg, through severe aortic stenosis).
• Hemodynamically unstable heart failure after acute myocardial infarction.
• The simultaneous use of Teldipin with preparations containing aliskiren is contraindicated in patients with diabetes mellitus or in patients with renal insufficiency (GFR <60 ml / min / 1.73 m2)

Mode of application

Teldipin can be taken with or without food. It is recommended to drink Teldipin tablets with a small amount of liquid.

The recommended dose of Teldipin is 1 tablet per day.

Overdose

An overdose of amlodipine can lead to excessive expansion of peripheral vessels and, possibly, reflex tachycardia. Marked and possibly prolonged systemic hypotension, including fatal shock, has been reported.

Treatment. The patient should be closely monitored, and treatment should be symptomatic and supportive. Therapeutic measures depend on the time of taking the pill and the severity of the symptoms.

Suggested measures include induction of vomiting and / or gastric lavage. Activated charcoal can be helpful in overdose with both telmisartan and amlodipine.

Side effects

The most common adverse reactions are dizziness and peripheral edema. Complete loss of consciousness can rarely occur (less than 1 in 1000 patients).

Interaction

Simvastatin. The simultaneous use of multiple doses of amlodipine 10 mg and simvastatin at a dose of 80 mg led to an increase in simvastatin exposure by 77% compared to the use of simvastatin alone. For patients taking amlodipine, the dose of simvastatin should be limited to 20 mg per day.
