Interactions
Preparations of the central depressant type of action enhance the effect of corvalol.
The presence of phenobarbital in the composition of the preparation can induce liver enzymes and, accordingly, can accelerate the metabolism of some preparations that are metabolized by these enzymes (including indirect anticoagulants, cardiac glycosides, antimicrobial, antiviral, antifungal, antiepileptic, anticonvulsant, psychotropic, oral hypoglycemic, hormonal, immunosuppressive , cytostatic, antiarrhythmic, antihypertensive preparations, griseofulvin, glucocorticoids, contraceptives), since their effectiveness will decrease as a result of a higher level of metabolism.
Corvalol enhances the effect of analgesics, local anesthetics and preparations that depress the central nervous system.
MAO inhibitors prolong the effect of phenobarbital. Rifampicin may reduce the effects of phenobarbital.
With the simultaneous use of phenobarbital with gold preparations, the risk of kidney damage increases.
With long-term simultaneous use of phenobarbital with NSAIDs, there is a risk of gastric ulcer formation and a risk of bleeding.
Simultaneous use of phenobarbital with zidovudine increases the toxicity of both preparations.
When used simultaneously with valproic acid, its effect increases.
With simultaneous use with methotrexate, the toxicity of the latter increases.
Alcohol enhances the effect of the preparation, and also increases its toxicity. Alcohol should be avoided while taking the preparation.
Overdose
Possible with frequent or long-term use of the preparation, which is associated with the accumulation of its components. long-term and constant use can cause addiction, withdrawal syndrome, psychomotor excitement. abrupt discontinuation of the preparation may cause a withdrawal syndrome.
Symptoms of overdose: suppression of breathing, until it stops; depression of the central nervous system, confusion, dizziness, ataxia, drowsiness, up to coma; suppression of cardiovascular activity, including rhythm disturbances, tachycardia, lowering of blood pressure, up to a collaptoid state; nausea, weakness, decrease in body temperature, decrease in diuresis.
